How To Create The Best Pump on the Market With our fuel pump design complete (link to fuel pump blogs 1,2,3,4), we now turned our attention to the details. We wanted a coating to protect the piston and decrease friction during operation. After testing dozens of compounds, we settled on a very strong coating that […]

From the blog "The Pre-Order will go live on November 1st at 12am Pacific Standard Time and will remain up until the initial 100 orders have been placed. Unfortunately these are the only internals we will offer for 2013 so if you miss the pre-order you will have to wait until next year to get the best fuel pump upgrade on the market."

We will have a link up to place the pre-order on Nov 1st on our webpage.

Sounds great. With the increased flow I'm wondering about the long term effects on the spill valve.

I was going to be going with autotech and the JRB intake since it came with a tune for the intake. I suppose if I went with these internals I'd be better to use the CS tune and their intake.

Just posted this on fb

Correct me if I'm wrong, I swear I've read that MS3 and GTI share the same HPFP, will you be marketing this towards the VW people as well then if these internals measurably trump autotech and KMD?

It says it flows more, aren't we not hitting max fuel pump capabilities but actually hitting max duty on injectors?
Isn't the pump just atomization of the fuel?

I could be wrong but from my understanding nobody has hit an upgraded CDFP limit yet. The problems have bee more the in tank pump or injector

I'm still concerned about the spill valve. With the amount my autotechs are flowing I'm started to hear my relief valve opening on cold starts, won't more flow exacerbate the problem.

We are a Mazda company and we ONLY make Mazda parts. Some of our parts can be used on VW's or Ford's or Subaru's but we don't market or design for them. You'll see other brands selling their parts to other cars. We're in the Mazda community and that's what we care about and have since 1998. If other cars want to use our parts, we're honored, but we're here to make the best Mazda parts that we can.

Will this 8% edge over the competition reduce IDC or am I correct in assuming it will not?

Breakthrough with aftermarket HPFP internals that they'd totally eat up for the performance gains, but GTI people will never know about.

I'm okay with that.

I could be wrong but from my understanding nobody has hit an upgraded CDFP limit yet. The problems have bee more the in tank pump or injector
Yeah, the only time we've seen a drop in fuel pressure from too much demand is when I was running full E85 and ramping in 25+psi in cold weather around 3000 rpm (lol). Pressure would lull by a couple hundred psi for a few hundred rpm, then come back around 4k rpm. I think we were estimating typical upgraded pump capacity at a sustained 450lb-ft, which is 500+hp at 6000 rpm, and nearing 600hp at 7000 rpm, on E85, which takes an additional 35-40% fueling capacity. Well beyond the capacity of our injectors.

We're still pressure limited by the pressure sensor and high pressure relief valve If we could utilize the extra flow of this pump by allowing the higher pressure, yes it would reduce IDC.

So your saying this upgrade is 100% compatible with straight e85 as well as saying that this upgrade reduces the need for 5th and 6th ports?

Don't know how you came to either of those conclusions from my post. I was just commenting on actual fuel demands and actual pump capacity from experience. We're going to run out of injector way before we run out of pump. I very seriously doubt the CS internals will alleviate any of the black death issues we see with high ethanol content.

It's not just the relief valve. It's making sure tge whole pumping system can take the pressure bump.

That's not at all what he said. Lol when he was talking about running e85 that was in reference to his previous experiences and testing on his speed 3 using different fp internals.

Reading comprehension fail. Lol

Where's the data?

Also, could someone from @CorkSport; chime in on why this has an advantage over other aftermarket fuel pumps since the pump itself isn't the bottleneck on our fuel system?

Ok, the only reason I brought up the e85 part was you said you were running full e85 so just assumed. Second part assumption was due to when I asked about the pump being stated it flows more fuel. Little loss in translation, apologies.

So pump flows more pressure sustained, got it. What are the major numbers differences? Didn't see anything besides a % number posted throughout the blog posts. I know quite a few BT guys that have no issues with their internals or upgraded pump keeping consistent high pressure throughout the RPM range its jut the duty cycle maxing out at this point.

Yes and without Meth you hit your DC much earlier which nullifies the point of flowing more fuel :-\. Most individuals aren't running meth just for the safety factor but more for the fueling factor. Which is turn I guess is a safety factor, you get my point I hope. Late and long day at work, really need coffee

@CorkSport; is what was listed for the pump (ie everything listed you get) for all pumps or just for the initial release?

Sorry if it seems like a stupid question but it came off to me like only the initial 100 were getting everything listed like the installation tool and higher rate spring.

So with the totally unnecessary increase in pump flow not addressing the limiting factor of injector one would exterpolate that corksport already has something in the works to help us utilize the additional flow...... @kritz; like this post if I am on the right path.

If its injectors I would be so happy I will let everyone at corksport watch me make sweet love to Kim.

Sorry if it seems like a stupid question but it came off to me like only the initial 100 were getting everything listed like the installation tool and higher rate spring.
Everyone will get everything listed. The first 100 will get them in 2013... after that it will have to be after the new year. Sorry for any confusion.

when you say you "have a tolerance of 1 micron" does that mean you've given the diametral tolerance +/-.0005mm?

Don't they mean allowance anyway? At least that's what I was expecting you to post.

If they are talking about the clearence between the two parts, then absolutely they mean allowance. And they'd actually need a tolerance on their allowence.
