Let's try to keep this on topic

I beg to differ about that not being on topic considering its about the specs of this product... but thanks for the clarification.

Nice to see another company in the FP internal market. This will hopefully help push the development in the fueling system of our cars.

Next... Injectors + Spill Valve

I found it to be pertinent as it was bragged about in the press release. So it's on topic.
So I'll rephrase. What part of the pump "has a tolerance of 1micron"?

I wanted you to tip cork sports hand subtlety but you have blown that. Why did they build a pump that moves more fuel than we can use? What part is next that will utilize this extra fuel.

I have been a CNC machinist for 20 years .. I am calling bullshit on your machining tolerance claims .....
I work in a large shop with all new machines .. We have 40 CNC machines .. 95% only go out 4 place decimal .. ( tenths )
How do you remachine after coating ?? Wouldn't you machine the coating off ?
You can't even measure a micron ..
I run a $600k Mori seiki mill/turn and holding +\- .0002 is hard to hold.
You have a great sales pitch !! Had me sold if I didn't know any better .. Lol

If it's in the press release, it's fair game for discussion here.
What part of the pump carries a 1 micron tolerance? That's one one thousandth of a millimeter for the laypeople.
.001mm = .000039"

As stated above, if its in the press release or pertains to fuel pumps, specs ect., its on topic. "You're trolling with the wrong bait." Maybe "you should head back to the tackle box" and go play with your micrometers.

@Brydon@CorkSport; & @Spencer@CorkSport;, care to chime in on the possible errors within the blog release? It seems there are always claims within the releases lately that cannot be backed up. It would be nice to be able to read claims that are backed up with more information than just getting told we're going off topic.

Aside from @kritz; I'd like to know who else has been testing these outside of CS's garage.

"Because of the increase in fuel we highly recommend that you get a new tune for your car. We have developed custom Cobb AccessPort specific maps for this pump. Compared to the OTS (Off the Shelf) maps from Cobb, these maps have to take quite a bit of fuel out, especially on the top end. In testing our pump with the maps currently available we were actually getting instances of flame out in high load areas because there was too much fuel for the engine to burn causing miss-fires."

This sounds like a tuning nightmare... The stock and OTS tables both target a 1750 fuel pressure (i believe, im at work and dont have ATR in front of me), and with both autotechs and other internals (i ran the full CP-E APR pump) we already see consistant 1850+ fuel pressures. These higher pressures are already linked to rail valve failures in some cases, because the rail valve is being strained (1000 psi over target...), and now you're telling me you're running so much more fuel you need your own special maps to run this pump??

1. Who designed the maps?
2. What all is changed / has been changed for a "corksport OTS map?"
3. Is there a "disclaimer" if people dont run your map with your pump?

Please view my questions as honest concerns more than attacks but i tune quite a few guys in Houston, half of whom cant tell their ass from a hole in the ground, and i dont want to have to deal with any stupid shit after the fact. Thanks.

All I want to know is with this awesome new set of internals when can we expect upgrades for the rest of the fuel system so we can actually use the added volume/pressure? I'm out of injector...hitting 100% IDC and my relief valve decided it didn't want to live any longer.

Thanks.
To add to that. What about reliability? Seems the cart is before the horse. As you said, not attacking, just concerned.

I see that multiple msfers have been running these internals, and obviously working on the tune. Perhaps these can spit out extra fuel but the tune is targeting 1850, like the other internals, for now.

I think corksport is spoon feeding this causing confusion. They need to just state they are working on a new fueling system and these internal will work but require extra tuning on oem setups.

There is more going on than the general forum knows about.

"The Fuel Pump Finale? (Sort Of)"
There will be more to come, they are avoiding certain questions so they don't give details on something they are already working on and about to release is what I can see.

Agree 100%. I tune myself if I buy a set of internals that needs some other tune modification than what has been documented when going to autotech and other available options that needs to be made public info.

I would suggest that corksport post those tables and any others that had to be modified for these to run properly. Cause I can garentee my car will not run off an OTS map that is only modified for the cs internals

Which is why its important to know Which values were changed, and more importantly WHY they were changed. You cant expect people to just willy nilly copy and paste tables into their tune and expect them to work.

Case and point: 75mm throttle body. Seemed to work great on Skates car lol ... and no one elses.

Waiting to see what we do with the extra 8%. Also will CS OTS maps be built for just CS parts (intake, exhaust, etc...) or for multiple brands like Cobb did.

I've had to target fuel pressures In the 1500's psi to keep my autotechs in line upstairs.

Assuming you're talking to me, i just feel its information that should have been available up front, as corksport is no stranger to this forum and its operations.

"here, run this, its great!" is likely to be met with skepticism.

Edit: Granted, the vocabulary they are using is typically what you would see listed on a website, i forget they dont make a special post for MSF. However, it is information i would like to see, or at least be discussed further.

Hey isn't there a lot of aerospace industry in the PNW? What is that company B something, must be a few defense type contractors that have the ability to achieve the tolerances that have been mentioned. I'm just speculating here though. I'm certain that this thread and it's coments will be part of CS's meeting agenda today.

And i find it funny!

This tough talk happens every single time cork sport releases an anal bead worth of information as so much is left unknown.

Its not even enticing, its just kinda frustrating!

Aerospace Engineers have been know to use safety factors as low as 0.9 so lets not go there

All they need to do is pop in here and say yes, there will be a use for the extra fuel and in the meantime the tables necessary to run this pump will be available.

Unfortunately this is why Joel should not be making these posts, he doesnt understand the question or why we would want an answer and just gets pissy instead

I don't know about anyone else, but the Autotech pump rattle sometimes scares me...

These help with that rattle? My Gen 1 speed KMDs never had an issue (v1.2), my Gen 2 speed has Autotechs and they make the rattle rattle. I no wants rattle!

I seen a few threads about the rattle, most conclude its normal/ok but sometimes a idle sounds like minor knocking-ish (fyi AP reads nothing and the car is new)

So where are the answers to the detailed questions? Where is the data thT quantifies your claim? Thus far we have adequate fuel pump internals on the market and we have not maxed them out yet....so some sort of empirical evidence to back up your claims would be nice to see.
