Default which MM to go with

I have the following parts waiting to be installed (intake,DP,Fuel pump, AP) I know I am going to need a motor mount but am unsure which to go with. Could I get by with just the inserts? I had a 350whp srt-4 in the past with solid mounts and hated the vibration. I dont plan on taking this car to the track or drag racing from light to light, but the occasional WOT will be had. Will I be ok with just the inserts?

No. Just buy a RMM and you will be fine. Buy one from corksport or go VIP and check the forsale section. Many times there will be members selling lightly used RMM's. You don't need the passenger side mount or tranny mount.

I used the inserts for awhile. I personally felt i needed more. Save some time and money and go with the JBR. Probably not the 88 though if you dont like a lil vibs.

If you are not interested in a corksport RMM why did you post in their section?

I posted in their section to ask about the inserts vs the solid mounts because I was interested. It was the other members who were throwing out the other companies.

I was looking for a vendor reply, which I got, to help me pick the best insert or mount based on my driving style. I am no longer looking to drag race or beat the hell out of the car on a daily basis, so I wanted to know if I could get by with just the inserts based on my mods.

the 70 should be good. Stiffen it up, and vibes are un noticable.

The inserts work well, I've run them for awhile, but you will probably find yourself wanting more. Most of our customers run the 70duro insert and love it, but those who have a little more power, or just like something stiffer love the 80... no wrong choices!

I concur, I am lightly modified and love my Corksport RMM with the 70. Better shifting, less hop, and almost no vibes. The only time I notice it is when it's sub zero outside and the urethane stiffens up.

I really don't notice the AC at all. I can just barely feel it when the compressor cycles, but I noticed that with the stock mount as well.

If you want the best balance of comfort and performance, get the cp-e Stage 2 RMM.

It's the bee's knees.

Get a set of CS inserts for now, donate, meet with Nator, ride in their mounted cars, then make a decision.

You're asking a personal preference question that is further tainted with vendor bias.

I've had the CS RMM inserts in for about a year now and they're holding up very well; that said, I haven't done any autocross or track days with them to really test their durability. What I will say is that, for the money, the inserts are a good buy and will improve the feel of your car VERY noticeably.

I've had the inserts, the CS mount with 70 duro inserts, and the same CS mount with the 85 duro insert.

Stock mount with inserts: great while they last, but loosen way up after six months or so.

70 duro: best balance of stiffness and vibes. They feel like fresh inserts, but do so indefinitely. Very little wheel hop with this mount.

85 duro: noticeably stiffer. Vibes are much more noticeable and are borderline obnoxious in temps below freezing, since the poly inserts get stiff in the cold. Turn-in feels so nice with this mount and the motor feels 100% planted. I picked this up because it's the best option for autocrossing.

Best option is the CS mount with both the 70 and 85 duro insert. 70 duro for winter (if it gets cold where you live) and swap to the 85 duro for the rest of the year.

@MacheteJames; thanks for the great review! I'd say you nailed it.

I just swapped from inserts after 4 months to the 70 duro Rear Mount and it is a huge improvement. Shifts better, hardly any vibes, hardly any wheel hop. Really the best for a daily driver year round. I do find myself wanting more stiffness on the weekend cruises around the hills, but that's why I'll be swapping in an 80 duro soon for summertime!
