Default New Beta Testing Opportunity!

EDIT: 11/12 11:55am -- THANK YOU ALL! I have more than enough Submissions! The cutoff has been reached! We will have more info in the Coming Weeks!

So, since the Beta Test of our CorkSport Mazdaspeed MZR Bypass Valve went so well (we got great feedback, made a revision, and sold out within a week!) we are giving everyone a new opportunity to Beta Test for us!

Check out the Bypass Valve Beta collaboration thread here: Inside the upcoming CorkSport Blow Off Valve

So onto the new part!

What part will this be a Beta Test For? I can't say, but we will give you the option to opt out of the beta if it isn't something you want to install in your car.

With that said, You WON'T want to miss this!

So what are the rules?

1. Post in this thread with the following info:
  • Year Make and Model
  • Performance Modifications Installed
  • The Best Reason You can think of for why YOU should be a Tester

2. If you want to be involved please email Spencer@CorkSport.com with the following info.
  • Subject Line should say "I want to be a Beta Tester!"
  • First and Last Name
  • MSF Username
  • Phone Number

3. We will choose Beta Testers according to our criteria, and there is a limited number, so give us a good reason to choose you!

4. If you are selected as a Beta Testers we will require you to contact us FIRST with any issues, Questions or Concerns. This will be a PRIVATE beta test, and you will be agreeing to provide us with feedback and information FIRST.

5. You cannot sell the parts without approval from us.

6. Pray that you get the beta test!

Questions?

Very interested.
  • 2010 Mazdaspeed3 w/tech
  • Intake, TIP, TMIC, Test Pipe, CBE, AP, RMM, Internals, RSB, SSP, Upgraded brakes
  • I would be a good choice because I am an engineer by trade and thrive on seeing how thing work and can be made better. I'm also a mechanic and car guy by hobby and know my way around a shop and an engine bay. I'm also an avid enthusiast of the mazdaspeed platform with no plans on changing in the near future.

E-mail being drafted!

- I am an engineer so I get paid to be meticulous and pay attention to detail. I am VERY picky about how my car drives and noises it makes(ask my friends). I do all of the work on my car, the only thing I haven't really touched is inside of an engine, although that will be one of the things that I will probably do when my Miata's motor dies. I do a lot of research and apply "common sense" if you could call it that, so I luckily haven't broke anything doing work on any cars yet.

Zero mods.

I can represent the subsection of MS3 owners who are looking for their first modification. Although the majority of my time here has been spent in the suspension area of MSF, I have a history of data collection and publication, including charts/videos/graphs/photos.

I am very interested!
  • 2012 Mazdaspeed3 w/tech
  • Full 3" Intake, TMIC, Test Pipe, AP, RMM, Internals, SSP
  • My username should be all the qualification needed to do your BETA testing. Simply put, "I am @Awesomesauce;!" But on a more serious note, I am a civil engineer with a concentration in transportation engineering. I live in NC so I drive in the mountains, beaches, and everywhere in between not to mention various temperature differences depending on the season. I am decent with troubleshooting mechanical issues and can be extremely meticulous with documentation and feedback. I've also never BETA tested anything before, so help me "pop my mechanical cherry" with selecting me to test your new product!

- I believe I'd be a good beta tester because I am good at giving honest, non-biased opinions and I always give great attention to details. Plus my position allows me some extra time during the day for MSF surfing and writing reviews

INTERESTED!

'07 Mazdaspeed 3 GT

AP, autotechs, Forge V1, catless TBE (CS CBE), CS stage 3 intake, JBR 88rmm, CS Pmm + Tmm insert, PnP IM, Koni yellows, moog links, gtspec chassis bracing, brake pads, Michelin PSS, Corn(hypnotic)

By trade, I repair things and make them work better. This translates into my love for automobiles. I've repaired, or helped repair(Nator ftw), most everything on the Speed 3, from full power/drivetrain replacements, to interior and body. I log almost daily and am very "in tune" (seewhatididthere) with my car and it's health. I'm tinkering constantly. I've had lengthy phone discussions with Kelly (tech, not c. service) about parts with which I had issues. Basically, I feel I can accurately test and review most anything you could need. I'd love to rep even more of your parts, too! (even if I have to keep quiet about them, haha)

Good luck with your selection!

...and email incoming.

Interested as well!

2008 Mazdaspeed 3

AP + OTS tune, Cobb BPV, CS Stage 2 intake and TIH, JBR 88 Duro RMM, Koni yellows + Swift Springs, JBR RSB, Moog Endlinks all around, CPE Tow Plate, TP, and AT Internals going in this weekend.

I'll be honest and say that before becoming a member of this forum I would have been the last person to volunteer for one of these opportunities. But over the last year or so I found that this forum has helped me become much more knowledgable about my car and made me feel confident that I could participate. I'm a detail oriented person by nature (I'm a law student) and so I believe that I can offer honest, and detailed opinions. More importantly, I'd love to give back to this community for all the knowledge its given me.

Email will go out later tonight, thanks!

I am interested in helping the community in developing new parts

° 2008.5 CWP MS3

°(don't hold your breath) drag radials, coilovers, rmm, tmm, pmm, 3.5 intake and maf, 3076r, vband downpipe, cbe, exhaust manifold, forged pistons and rods, h11 head studs, upgraded hpfp, ported fuel hard line, upgraded injector seals, intake TIG gasket, tb coolant bypass, egr bypass, direct port methanol, vband blow off valve, air to water inter cooler, bsd delete, Windage tray, cobb ap self tuned, battery relocated to trunk, moved ecu, kenne bell boost a spark, rear sway bar, egt - boost - afr - oil pressure gauges, light weight flywheel, upgraded clutch, upgraded vvt, custom grounding wires, vcts welded, st shifter, short shift plate, 3.5 bar map sensor, arp main bolts, dwc in tank pump, camber arms, ss brake lines, elaborate custom pcv setup dual catch cans with exhaust venturi, ceramic coated intake manifold and exhaust with ti wrap, and front/rear drilled and slotted rotors. It is likely I have more but can't remember everything

° I feel I would be a very realistic choice to beta test because I take pride in my built car, do all the work and tuning myself. I have already tried many many mods in different configurations from different companies and in general tried multiple setups and I feel I have a good read on what the parts should do and how to properly configure them as such.

I can and will focus directly on testing the part itself and give positive helpful feedback on how to improve it, I am very effective at understanding the design and engineering of parts and how they work, my experience on other projects have guided me along very well. I have no problem being honest and outright with testing, I would just like the opportunity to help develop parts for the community and keeping the relationship professional.

I fear that the beta part may not even bolt on to my current modifications however if they do then I would like the chance to contribute. I promise to respect the company and thier efforts and I feel Corksport does really good with the community and are in general awesome.

CS SRI/TIP, ETS TMIC, CS catless Racepipe, CS CBE, CS RMM, AutoTech Hpfp internals.

I have a background in automotive, both from being a former mechanic to now working at a company that specializes in automotive diagnostic software. I have acess to a lift at work for ease of parts installation and access to factory mazda and aftermarket scantools to diagnose any problems that may arise from a beta part. I also live in California which allows for year round testing without the fear of inclement weather.

So almost everyone on this forum is going to want to beta test anything for you because they are a bunch of cheap asses and will take whatever they can get, so I will cut to the chase and say I don't want whatever, I want a full replacement short shifter. We only have the TWM option and that shit is expensive.

No Bullshit. I don't want to test random shit that isn't already out there because my mod list probably wouldn't support it anyhow. But if you are testing a full replacement short shifter. I'm your guy.

Pick me if you are testing a full replacement short shifter!
Oh and @Kim@CorkSport; thinks I'm cute, so you have to pick me

That is all...

2006 MS6

Mods in sig

You guys know I am very analytic and I have the capability of controlling an environment to quantify changes. I throw a ton of miles on my car and am always open to inspecting/testing new things. If you look at any of my versus/install threads, I think you'll agree that I am a pretty good tester for the community. I bolt on all of my own shit.

•The Best Reason You can think of for why YOU should be a Tester

I believe the best reason for me to be a beta tester would be because I am a "neutral" party to Corksport. As you can see I don't own any parts currently from Corksport, but would like to be swayed towards Corksports parts for future purchases (Believe me, I still have lots of parts to purchase). I also keep a build diary of my car and parts for others to view.

I'm an avid car enthusiast who has been modifying his own cars since 2002. Your average car guy just like most of your target consumers who enjoys turning wrenches with some friends when he has the free time. I drive my car daily and am not afraid to drop the hammer whenever the opportunity presents itself. I appreciate quality parts and don't like to sugarcoat, if something sucks I will tell you that it sucks.

2013 speed3 non tech w/~4700 miles

I'm stock (besides jbr dog bone), but tomorrow morning i am installing my Cobb sf, CS inlet pipe, autotech internals, CS catless race pipe, and AP v2

I've been studying and modifying cars for about 7 years now, either with friends or family or my own car. I took auto tech classes all throughout high school and even some classes during college, but it was just for myself so I could learn as much as I can to help my favorite hobby/passion which is track racing. I daily drive the speed but I will happily take it to the track to see how it performs under those conditions. Also, I like to party.

Figured it wouldn't hurt to try.

I do *not* want to participate in the beta program, but I do want to make sure @dale_gribble; gets chosen for your testing program. I don't know him personally, but he consistently produces excellent analytical data and is a significant influence on my mod path. I'm surprised someone hasn't snatched him up to sponsor.

Car:
2009 Mazdaspeed3

Current modifications:
Cobb: AccessPort, downpipe
AutoTech: HPFP internals
AEM: cold air intake
JBR: turbo inlet pipe, oil catch can, thermal insulating gaskets, rear motor mount, short shift plate, solid shift bushings, EGR delete
NGK: one-step colder plugs
Stratified: EBCS
Hypnotic Tuned

Why I think I should be a tester:
Honestly I have never looked at Corksport for buying parts. It's not that I don't think you guys aren't reputable or don't make quality parts, it's just that for whatever reason I have been drawn to other companies. This would give me an opportunity to get my eyes on something new first hand and so I am therefore interested.

There are a lot of engineers in here who can look at the part and tell you its strengths, flaws, new idea proposals, etc. But, if you truly want to test durability and see how something stacks up in real world application then hand it to a firefighter haha. We are excellent at breaking stuff.

Okay, that part was mostly a joke. Though firefighters are awesome at breaking stuff. In all seriousness I'm a total car nerd that eats, breathes, and sleeps cars. I will be sticking with the Mazdaspeed platform for a while and take pride that all the work done to it is my own. I treat my car as a living, breathing member of my family and firmly believe that if you take car of a car then it will take care of you. While I do not currently track the car, it is in the plans for the near future once some funds free up. I do partake in "spirited" driving regularly and am just genuinely interested in learning every possible thing I can about these cars, the parts we put on them, and how to tune the platform. I try my best to help those around me at all times, especially my NATOR RVA brothers, and I know that I can provide complete, detailed, and unbiased thoughts on the product if I am selected as a tester. I really think it would be neat to be part of the beta testing process and would love to have a gateway into knowing I can buy Corksport parts with confidence.

2011 Speed 3 (non-tech)

Stock airbox w/KN filter, HTP 3" inlet; Catless stock DP, CS TP, CS TMM insert, HPFP internals, JBR 70d RMM, Stratified tune, TWM Full replacement shifter, Stratified shifter extension.

Because .... there is no better testing than in -30 degrees C at high altitude. My current setup will tell you how skeptical I am with any "performance" mods after having tested and logged on various other setups (intakes, IC's, TMM, PMM, BPV's, exhaust), in varying temperatures, in city and long distance driving. I have also tested and tried your FMIC w/ram air and your PMM and sent you feedback for it.

Both are basically stock, short shifter, shifter bushings, motor mounts, transmission fluid change.

Between me and the wife we've both platforms. I perform all installs and maintenance myself. I am an IT engineer and can help with technical solutions, I am used to fixing/re-engineering products when they don't work right, or don't meet my standards.

2006 MS6 Sport (102k Miles)

Mods in sig

Daily driver, I have a LOT of free time at work and access to a lift (also at work). I am a modest mechanic who obsesses with perfection (much like James May and his spanner organization). I am more interested in how a car goes around a corner than brute force.

2006 Mazda Mazdaspeed6

Rear Diff Mount, RMM, SRI, TIP, CBE, RSB, AP, EBCS, Forward Diff Mount, HPFP Internals, Rear Endlinks, Lowering Springs, Short Throw Shifter, Shifter Bushings, TP, FMIC

I should be a beta tester because I'm an automotive engineering major in school so I have access to a lot of machines and knowledge that can't be found elsewhere. Also I'm very mechanically inclined and not only do I enjoy working on my car but also working on new ideas to improve the Mazdaspeed platform as a whole.

Year Make and Model:
  • 2013 Mazda Mazdaspeed3
Performance Modifications Installed
  • JBR 3" Intake, Cobb FMIC, HKS SSQV BPV, AT Internals, NGK Step Colder Plugs, CNT Catted Long Downpipe, CNT CBE, 4/8 e85/93 mix
The Best Reason You can think of for why YOU should be a Tester
  • I should be a tester to give CorkSport a perspective from someone who could technically be considered an average Joe when it comes to overall experience, but loves to dig in to the engine bay and tinker with whatever he can on the weekends. I drive an average of 80 miles a day for work with stop and go traffic as well as spirited, open roads. I can give good incite on how the part is handling in different road conditions. I installed every mod on my car myself and have self tuned which helps because I know how my car feels and sounds when running right and can be specific with details when testing a foreign part. I am specific to detail which is valuable when providing feedback. Communication between the tester and the maker is critical when it comes to beta testing and I've always exceeded when feedback is needed. I can help with detailed installation write-ups, product feedback, troubleshooting issues, and making suggestions to make anything easier to understand/install from an end-user perspective when possible. I love helping my local community with questions and installs. This would give me an opportunity to help the entire Mazda community as a whole.

2010 Liquid Silver Mazdaspeed 3

Forge recirculating BPV version 2, Corksport sri with tip, AT fuel internals, Cobb Accessport version 3 and Catted cp-e dp.

The reason I want to be a beta tester. I want to better in tune with my car. The more I work on my car the better I can diagnose my car. Granted I am not a gearhead, I am willing to learn. The hardest install for me was the dp. It took two days at a army base. I listen to my NJ Nator talk and take in what knowledge they have to offer. This will give me an opportunity to see if this product will benefit our car platform and open my eyes to see what does fits and not fits on our cars.

Car:
2009 MGM Mazdaspeed 3

Performance Modifications:
Sure SRI, TIP
Sure recirc hose
BNR stage 1
Cobb piping kit with TR8L
Cobb dp
Cobb cat back
HKS iginition amplifier
Autotech internals (would like to eventually get the CS internals)
Cobb AP (currently personally tuned)

The Best Reason You can think of for why YOU should be a Tester:
I live in Canada and see fluctuating temps between -30 celcius to +30 celcius. Making sure that the bpv does not fail in different climates would be an important test to confirm.

Model:
2010 MPS 3 (MS3)

Power Mods:

CS SRI and TIP
CS Air Box
CS Catted Race pipe
Autotech HPFP internals
JBR intake manifold gasket
Cobb AP - modified S2 tune
Spark plugs - one step colder
Forge V2 Bypass Valve

Handling (and similar) Mods:

CS TMM inserts
CS Short shift plate
CS Shifter assembly bushings
JBR Rear Sway Bar
King Springs
Bilstein Shocks (B8s)
JBR 88a RMM
JBR 70 PMM

Other Mods:

Res delete for awesomeness

Reasons:
I daily drive (combo of city and highway drive), installed all mods myself with no previous experience with fiddling with cars, and have selected mods to give best bang for buck and balance to the car. My day job is all about engineering, risk management and QA, so have a strong focus on getting things right and am process orientated so can provide good input into install manuals (pretty handy with a SLR also). Also live in Australia so can bring some feedback from our corner of the globe.
