No. We're not going to disclose where, or who makes these calipers. Our calipers were made to our specifications and out of materials we specified, just like all of our products built in house or outsourced statewide and internationally. Our calipers were tested for half a year, revised, sent into production, and tested again. That's why our products take a while to be released. We have the right to hold onto our manufacturing sources as long as we possibly can before other manufactures just copy and avoid the upfront the cost on R&D.

We just want solid data in terms of performance... how will this help us, over stock calipers, at the track

One big advantage is your pad wont twist under heavy braking and should provide equal pressure that normally a floating caliper can't apply. That's why I've been considering them, just as long as they stop the car as well as the stock calipers do.

Corksport already has a thread with this discussion, 16 pages of it to be exact, but ill sum it up for you here:

Lets say corksports car, with Their tires, their suspension set up, road surface, any other countless variables stops the car from 60 - 0 in "xx.xx" seconds, feet, whatever ... cool ... but unless your car replicates those EXACT conditions those figures are meaningless.

The data you are looking for simply does not exist because it is neither controllable nor repeatable.

The benefit of these rotors can be found on google, spend 5 minutes and you will see why multi piston calipers > single piston.

Wow. Sexy! I'm assuming the pads are reordered through you guys? How much do those pads go for? What kind of pad are they equivalent to (a Hawk?). I can't seem to find them on your site.

My understanding is that they made them to be compatible with several different pads, so you have lots of options. The info is buried somewhere in that loooooong thread.

I believe the said they were designed to fit the STI pads.

I would like to know where. Don't care about who. Would like to know what material and how it is formed.

Essentially all I'm asking for is the same information that I would ask for from a wheel manufacture.

Look, I get wanting to know where things are made, etc. But mostly I want to know those things for comparative purposes.

Let's see your choices in big brake upgrades for MS3s is CS Calipers + Brake Pads + Stock Centric Rotors OR StopTech's Big Brake Kit. Considering you can buy the CS calipers for $800, and spend $200 on stock rotors, plus 150 for pads, bringing your total to $1150 OR spend $2195 for a StopTech kit, I 'd say there isn't a comparison here.

FWIW, StopTech doesn't bother telling you what their calipers are made of, how they are built, or where they are built either. Edit: Scratch that StopTech does say their calipers are "forged". But don't say where or from what.

And people forget that StopTechs had issues with bolt's sheering off the brackets. Sooo umm, yeah, better find out what bolts they were using back then lol.

PS: If you read the CS Blog Post, the calipers are made of billet aluminum.

Superior Construction: Crafted from billet aluminum and made to last with durable components

Could be forged or cast from a billet of aluminum, but honestly, I've worked around both cast and forged components and the different between quality casts versus forging is fairly limited.

You have every right to ask for those specifics and they have every right to decline to provide the information. If you feel it is extremely important to know various internal specifications, manufacturing techniques, piston seal diameter and width, part numbers and who can service them prior to buying them then you might have to look elsewhere.

While not the correct place, I would buy the Willwood kit over the KSport kit because of the detailed information they provide and their history. Not to mention, the likely hood of easy future service is much greater in my opinion with Willwood over KSport:

Since I plan on keeping my Speed for 100K, I prefer to know I can have future issues corrected by the manufacturer and not hear, “sorry, the supplier is no longer in business” or “the supplier no longer stocks the parts to rebuild it" and so on. I am not saying that will happen in this case, but unless the pistons, seals and other parts are commonly sized and easily sourced from a host of manufacturers, you are at the mercy of the original unknown supplier.

While Wilwood has a great reputation. Perhaps the greatest benefit of the CS calipers, besides their price, is that CS built their calipers to run with WRX TR brake pads which are dirt common. Wilwood, KSport, and StopTech all use proprietary brake pad designs and you're limited to their pads or what boutique manufacturers make for those brake calipers.

A quick perusal of brake pads finds Raybestos, Ferrodos, for street. Hawk, Carbotech, and EBCs are all available for performance applications. All for comparable cost to our stock brake pads.

In my opinion the biggest benefit to these calipers is the snap job it makes out of swapping pads. Swapping pads in our stock setups is a fucking nightmare.

Honestly, as soon as I am able, I'll be jumping on a set of these.

I've never looked very deep into the kits Wilwood makes for the MS3 specifically, but most Wilwood kits use pretty common brake pads... Pads for Stoptech's ST40 Caliper aren't super cheap, and I don't really know anything about Ksport's offerings, but I'm pretty certain that Wilwood isn't using "proprietary pads" in ther kits...

It is a proprietary pad. They build them on different backings for different kits. Hawk, Carbotech, and Wilwood all produced brake pads for the kits, now, but it's Wilwood's backing number for the pad that dictates the pads you can run.

Regardless, pads for Wilwood calipers are widely available (you can probably get them in more compounds than you can get for the WRX TR) and are quite reasonably priced.

The stoptech use a pad off a Porsche or Ferrari, both pads I was able to find at an AutoZone for cheap ones, or can go with aftermarket. But they seem pretty widely available.

Yes, they are widely available...BUT, they're typically on the "high side" of what you pay for replacement pads (probably because they use pads that are OEM on "high-end" cars)...
