It seems to me that at least in its most basic form, we're talking about a T-shaped piece of metal with a few bolts in it. It could even be in two pieces to ease packaging. In essence, you'd just need a couple of rectangular pieces of sheet metal with the edges bent at 90°. I mean, you could probably crank out these things manually in about 10 minutes per set. Of course powder-coating/painting/etching/waterjetting would be significantly more expensive, but it wouldn't be hard. Furthermore, especially if it was in two-pieces you could even ship it in USPS flat-rate boxes (or similar). It wouldn't be *that* large a box, I don't think.
