Default Show us your curves

I am wondering what boost people are achieving with their Corksport turbos and how quickly they are spooling up. I particularly want to know what people are achieving with stock intake and exhaust manifolds.

My boost curve from last years dyno tuning is attached.

I hit 23psi at 4000rpm and maximum boost of 25psi at 6500rpm.

When this tune was done I had stock engine internals, I now have a forged build.

I have a 7gph nozzle spraying 50:50 water methanol starting from 12.5psi with maximum flow from 18psi.

I am going back on the dyno next Monday with the built motor and I am wondering how much harder we can push this puppy.

Should you choose to, you could dial in a little more wastegate actuator preload on the wastegate flapper, and that will probably get you up to 20psi 200-300rpm faster. How much timing you running at redline with 25psi?

Thanks for the input Dale, I have read a few of your threads with great interest, I am just getting my teeth into the tuning side. Previously I have just paid the tuner to get me this far.

16.5 degrees advance at redline building from about 7 degrees at 4000rpm.

The bottom line of my BCS DC Base table is;

100,100,100,100,100,70,53,48,51,53,55,56,58,58

So this means 100% WGDC to 2500rpm then drops then ramps up slightly to hold/build boost to redline.

I am thinking a bit more WGDC at 3000 and 3500rpm could help spool up faster too.

How do you adjust wastegate preload on the CS turbo?

I've read you can play with VVT to boost quicker as well. It would be interesting if you documented these changes so we all can learn :-)

I've played with VVT for a while. I never saw anything out of the noise regarding spool and/or flow. When I made the preload adjustment, I saw a pretty noticeable change in low end torque and turbo response. It could be that the preload adjustment masked any VVT changes since I did the preload change first.
