(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score This was my first test drive after the coilover install. You guys did a great Job. Das was einfach Klasse like they say in Germany Still can't believe it. Steve: @kritz why you didn't give me some head's up Earlier? Just imagine, I can notice this "kid of difference" even without any alignment. I'm still running the wacky alignment from the install I took the spacer out and all the fucking noises are gone. No noise on braking, engaging the power, no nothing. Performed a hard braking on my way home no issue. CorkSport: Give me couple weeks to enjoy the car, I'll grab all your suspension/handling mods.

| Not Ranked : 0 score @bertrand_CX_7, how's the road noise compared to stock? I won't ask about comfort just yet because that may differ based on how you tune them, but any feedback in as many areas as possible is welcome. I see they have helper springs for the front, my current kit has too, and I'd never go back to some other kit that doesn't have this.

Now notice that for the beginning I set the coilover to less ALL THE WAY stiff and I guess the front height is 1.5 Inch from the lower thread. I guess this was CorkSport recommendation. Now I'll adjust them stiffer and see how it drives. Now when riding in the city, I just have to take it easy on area like rail road crossing. Some time I get a little surprised with some deeps bumps on the pavement that I don't see. It shakes it a little bit but no noises. Yesterday on my way home I was on the tool road by about 50 mph and I did some slalom. I couldn't believe it. when you counter steer the car get back on track with a little steering inputs. During the first two years I owned this car I did a lot of auto-x and couple few track days. Glad I got the feel of the car stock before moving up with this suspension upgrade. So In the fast turns (auto-x) where you had to change directions faster left and right. The rear of the car was really heavy and less responsive such that when you counter steer in the opposite direction, you couldn't make it easily to the next cone without having to slow down . yesterday, you should have seen the expression on my face when I was able to swing the car left and right without loosing my speed and traction. The rear wasn't loose at all and traction was there...... It felt like the car was riding on rails and every steering inputs was so precise. No lag in the steering; Basically from the time you give the steering input on the steering-wheel to the time the front wheel change the direction, there is like no lag. The steering feels firm and solid. Therefore the wow effect..... @mituc what's the deal with those helper spring? what role are they playing. I'm new to suspension man. Derrick @CorkSport can someone explain the role of the helper spring please? Thanks!

| Not Ranked : 0 score The helper spring (usually a flat-wound spring) simply makes the entire spring assembly long enough that the springs don't become unseated when the suspension is unloaded. They don't really provide any real rate to the working suspension, and are completely compressed with the weight of the car on them.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Those helper springs should have should have a linear constant compared to the big springs which should be progressive (but not necessarily progressive), but most importantly are softer than the big springs. They are supposed to absorb a lot from the vibrations generated by small cracks, dirt, even small bumps in the road. So basically they allow the suspension to move easily and faster in the first 5-10mm before the big springs starting to work and transmitting the shock to the chassis (so passengers). I currently have a Bilstein B14 kit which is awesome in therms of handling AND comfort. But it keeps cracking my left strut bearing/bush - because yes, they use the stock top mounts. And purchased as new they were about $200 less than this kit but I guess the included adjustable top mounts make this kit a better value.
