Default 07 MS3 "misfire" issue solved

Just wanted to say thanks for the info on the knowledge base and all the other threads. I finally fixed a problem I was having after about a year of trial and error on and off. At first I had a bit of a misfire, usually around 3300/3500 RPM under 3/4 throttle or higher. No codes, nothing obvious from the OBD data.

Finally, it got bad enough that I was able to see the fuel pressure dip to 60psi in the logs.
Much worse and obvious in the cold air, especially when the car wasn't warm.
Today, before I fixed it, on a cold day the whole range from 3000rpm to 4000rpm was completely unusable. Hitting 3k was like hitting a wall, but then it would take off again as soon as it hit 4k.

Anyway, it started as a "misfire" or hesitation under high load. It ended by cleaning the black and sticky spill valve. I've never used anything other than high octane pump gas, but the problem started around 130k miles.

PS: A local dealer wanted $2000 to replace four "leaky" injectors.
