08 MS3 moisture in the passenger headlight

After almost 10 years of ownership, my MS3 is starting to show signs of aging and one of those things is condensation in the passenger headlight. I have never witnessed moisture in the headlight until yesterday morning. It eventually dried out at the end of the day yesterday and was hoping it was one of those happen once then not have it happen again but it did happen today again. Its been raining and cold recently in houston.

Its only moisture and no puddles.




I checked all low / high beam lights and their rubber seals and dont really notice anything wrong. Then i decided to check what i think is the seal and most of it looked ok except a certain portion on the top.





Is this a bad seal? If so, is the only way to fix it is to do the oven method? The first thing i thought of in the moment was maybe using flex seal but obviously it not going to be that easy... right?

I have an '08 with the same problem. The improper way is to apply some sort of clear drying silicone around the headlight seals. In your case you can just apply some around that problem spot and see if that fixes it. Or as you mentioned, the technically correct oven method. Either way get it done sooner than later before the moisture shorts out your headlights. On GT models getting those lights replaced is $$$.

Mine was leaking and it burnt up my hid ballast, do it sooner rather than later. Those ballast cost $450 from the dealer. I found it on ebay for $40-50 new.

Besides the oven baking method you can also use a heat gun. That's how we did mine. heat guns are under $10 at Harbor Freight
