Default 2008 MS3 New engine or Part out???
I have a 2008 ms3 iv loved the car but blew head gasket last fall. I'm trying to decide if I should put a new engine in from the junk yard, Jdm engine, reman or rebuild. I'm also considering selling it as it, or just parting it out. At this point I just want to get it out of my hair but not loose my ass. I'm looking at around 3-4 k in getting it back and running and hopefully getting 8k out of it. Any suggestions of what to do? I'm open to all offers

Probably going to lose your ass either way. I would just sell as is. Probably could get more money if you part it out, but is going to take longer and more work.

seems like with all the part outs I see lately, in ten years there maybe 3000 total of both speed3/6 left

Retire it and get yourself a shitter as a DD and keep this as a project? Don't know your finances, but doesn't sound like you have the luxury to have this scenario pop up again, but maybe in the future?
