Default About to purchase first car! :)
I've been looking closely at buying a speed3 lately and have saved up a decent amount and have spotted what seems to be a decent deal but this car is going to need some work. Ill start off by saying that the car is pretty cheap so if i could fix these problems without spending thousands it may be worth buying, so you guys can give me your honest opinion. First problem with the car is CEL is on he said the code is P0401 and he claims it has to do with octane fuel he put into the car. Second issue is with the brakes, the seller says car could be safe enough to drive a long distance (in order to get home) but I would have to be careful because the stopping distance is affected. Those are the two issues he pointed out, so tell me what you guys think and possibly any questions I should ask this guy.

For the sake of making an attempt to help, let's point out the obvious. 1) Seller is full of shit 2) If seller has allowed the brakes to get to this point and hasn't replaced them before putting the car up for sale, what other things has the seller "let go?" 3) Don't buy that car....unless of course you enjoy headaches. 4) Your ass was just saved.
