(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score i installed a Perrin MBC today using Laloosh's how-to on M24/7. dialed out the MBC to the minimum setting and went for a drive. 3rd gear still makes 19psi then cuts. took the ball and spring out of the MBC to try and run the car on straight WGA spring pressure. 3rd gear climbed even faster and hit 21psi before cutting . i cant see any kinks in the vac line, and everything looked good after i finished putting the turbo inlet back on, but i'm not ruling that out yet. i have two other theories as to why this isnt working for me. A: i bought 3/16" vac line instead of 1/4" (cuz i'm dumb) and this is restricting pressure to the WGA. B: i need to remove the restrictor pill from the turbo (and how do i?). i'm leaning more towards option B, but i could just be missing something simple. any advice, speculation, and help is welcome. TIA

this is exactly what u need to to. u cant run an MBC AND a restrictor pill because they fuck with each other. no body seems to understand that and i have been one of the only peopel to every successfully run an MBC on this car with NO SPIKE and NO CUT @18psi. what you need to do is instead of using the stock nipple on the compressor housing you need to tap a boost only source (ie in your hotpipe). this is what mine looked like when i had it. trust me this works like a charm and i never had cut unless i was more then 20psi. best part was i would hit 18psi on the dot with zero spike and the car ran better then it ever has. gl and shoot me some more questions if u have them.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score what are the chances of fucking something up if i drill the pill out? a small easy-out should do it i hope... or is there any reason why i shouldnt tee the vac line to the BPV to get pressure for the WGA?

Superskater is right, you need to plug the stock nipple and run from a pressure source post turbo (manifold, ic pipe). I did this with a Hallman PRO Rx for a very long time at 17psi w/ no spike or cut and the turbo spooled super fast.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score i drilled it out 1/16" smaller than the fitting, and then used a brass nut on the inside with red loctite. i put a small o-ring over the fitting on each side of the tube. i dont think its 100% airtight but i cant hear anything leaking under boost.

I'm not running an MBC but am debating it. It would be nice to have a consistent 18PSI. | |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score i'm making ~13psi in 3rd with the MBC guts removed, and 16psi with the MBC on its minimum setting. i used to get boost cut 4-5 times in each gear at WOT, now i cut once or twice in 4th and 5th. some quick logs last night look like i'm getting fuel cut though, not boost cut.
