i am avid fan of CS: source, TF2, and quake on pc as well as console shooter

but i am pretty much making the permanent switch to console for all future shooters....why? because i couldnt keep my computer up spec/cost wise...would rather drop 300 once and be set for 7-10 years and not have to worry about keeping my comp up to date

Its quite simple my friend, I can infinitely increase the look-speed of my mouse. Joysticks are rather limited to their look-speed, yaw-speed and overall sensitivity. Due to most modern consoles being bloated with security features and attempts to protect their code.

If we are able to play in the same room(server); PC users as well as Console kiddos you will see the difference.

I'm not being ignorant, there are plenty of games that are meant for a console, but in the end my computer out performs any console. Higher frame rates = quicker reactions, not to mention I can run a lower MS on a pc than any console, again = quicker reactions. We are talking about 1/100ths of a second, but compounded.

Regardless, if we LAN'd and threw the internet out the window, I still feel confident a mouse can out perform a joystick..I have a 12x16 mousepad for a reason..that reason isn't video games..but it sure as shit helps.

Aside from all that, you mentioned not being able to afford a decent computer..if you do some research you can definitely build computers that will last as long as any console until its "next gen" is released.

I built a core2duo for my brother years back when PS3 was just about to be released..maybe an E8400 Wolfdale but its been a while(and I've built too many) Any how, over the years we've only upgraded his GPu as well as another gig of ram.. totaling MAYBE $200

I'm not looking to start some great debacle about how "PCs ARE ZOMG BETTER" I am just stating, I completely believe in the fact that two equally talented "FPS'ers" matched up against one another, one on a PC and another on a console; the PC has quite an advantage. THIS is why online games, are generally separated due to the platform. It wouldn't be fair.

My PS3 is a dedicated Blue-Ray player, nothing more, and it does a great job.

it really is how you learn it....two different control schemes to reach the same end....whoever is better depends on who practices more

i do not believe either is an inherently "better" control scheme than the other

yes you are using your whole hand with the pc instead of just your thumb with the console...but all it takes is practice

Just FYI PS3 isnt the greatest thing for a Blu Ray Player. Maybe every now and than but its not good to use for BR just because the lens has to focus differently everytime you go from a BR to a game or vise versa.. Just be carefully. If your gonna watch a ton of movies I would in vest in a 100 BR Player.

I would suggest BF3 on PC for one main reason: PC gamers, as a general rule, taking gaming more seriously than a console gamer.

Look how many people get upset when someone misses a scheduled WoW party versus how many 8 year olds are playing COD while their mom watches GH.

I guess my issue with COD is that they've had to cater to run & gunners b/c that's their core audience. I've played with some 5-person clans in party chat and, without hearing a word, have gone like 17-2 because they already setup on choke points. Some of the larger maps like Silo are easily separated into miniature theaters and maps like Nuketown are a piece of cake to lock down.

The problem is people get bored or you have that one lvl39 idiot that runs around with an MP5K, lightweight, hardened & marathon only to go 3-19... and then you lose anyways.

BF3 alleviates some of that by being driven more by strategy. MAG had huge potential until every 8 year old whined until mommy bought them a new baby sitter.
