From what I read when I looked through the article it seems valve is matching up players for cross platform play.

The article makes it very clear that controllers can't compete with a mouse and keyboard in a fps.

Much like a mouse and keyboard wont compete with a controller in a racing game.

It's running an hd4870 class card, eons better than the rsx and xenon in the ps3 and 360, but still light years away from current cards. The 6970 is easily 2-3x faster.

True on the community, though the cs community was never small.

Rumor has it the CPU is going to be an 8-core at 3.5GHz with DRAM - substantially faster than the other three consoles and much faster than, say, an i7-2600k

nice on the 6950/6970. My old 5850 overclocked to well past 5870 levels on water and in benchmarks was quicker than 6950s, I ate through any game 1080p.

lol if it's the rumored amd processor, it's not going to be faster than a 2600k.

Bulldozer was a fucking disappointment and a half. 1 sandybridge core > 2 dozer cores :< \

edit: Just read it's an ibm supplied cpu, I have faith.

And true, they can do alot better with a 4870 than pc games do. No wonder it runs crysis, my 1GB 4870 ran crysis highest settings at 720p. Should be impressive when it comes out.
