Brown connector in engine bay HELP

Good afternoon,
I will start like every new person does and say that I'm new to this forum, and new to Mazda in general so any help is appreciated.
I have a 2007 Speed 3 I bought with a bad motor, I ended up building the motor and putting it back in, but I have a plug that I cannot figure out where it goes. Is it brown 2 pin connector that runs over by the passenger side

I am also having a power steering issue, I thought it was a power steering pump put a new pump on it still having power steering issues. And by issues I mean it just doesn't work.

Car runs and drives fine other than the power steering I'm not throwing any codes so I've kind of hit a dead end.

I don’t recognize that clip off of the top of my head, but it’s possible it’ll clip to something under the intake mani. You’re best bet may be to find a wire diagram and figure it out that way, or find the engine removal thread and see if you can see that clip in there. You’re not throwing anything for the lack of power steering?

Ok thanks I will take a look there.

No codes have been thrown for the power steering, I'm starting to think I may have bad rack. But the power steering worked just fine before the previous owner took it to a shop and let them do the timing chain where they blew up the motor. So it's kind of hard for me to believe that the rack went bad but I guess it's possible.

The link below may help. It is full of photos of the steps to remove and replace the intake manifold. Those of us who have removed the intake manifold for various reasons (valve cleaning) have found that James Barrone Racing (JBR) has great photographic step-step-instructions.

The instructions are for installing their intake manifold gasket, but the steps are the same to get the manifold off for valve cleaning.

There are several, I think three, plugs under the intake manifold over toward where the oil dipstick tube is located. It may be one of those.

Here is the link to JBR's website and the support link to download the PDF file full of photos. Most, if not all of the many electrical plugs are identified along with the instructions on disconnecting and reconnecting them in the process. Chances are your plug is one of them.

No surprise on the power steering, it generally won't throw a code. Are you sure you are getting power to the pump? Its a simple energized wire connector so super easy to test, turn the car on and you should have voltage. If the rack is shot you should either have leakage or hear a whine when turning the wheel when sitting still. You could also have some air in the lines. Did you follow the how to to work the wheel back and forth a few times while refilling?

Looks like a fog light connector.

The connector on the p/s pump is finicky, make sure everything's clean and snug.

unless youve been tugging on it and shit, the old stiff wire will kinda lay and point to home, within a few inches
