Default This can't be right, cheapest exhaust for Genjuans?

While helping out another member who basically bought a car with a mazda 3 exhaust bolted on it...

MazdaspeedSport catback?

I looked up our part number for our mazdaspeed cat back and came up with this

http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Mazda-Parts-GRMS-8M-L26-Exhaust/dp/B00BGSP7JEhttp://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Mazda-Parts-GRMS-8M-L26-Exhaust/dp/B00BGSP7JE

Might be worth following up on and see if this is actually correct. And if you're prime...it's free.
@silvapain; you want a second exhaust just in case yours rusts through haha.

Hmm... I have prime so I might jump on this once I get my tax return. Wasn't planning on doing CBE but for 275 why wouldn't you upgrade to 3"? Does it look like a couple of hangers have been cut off to anyone else? I can't really tell, the piping looks a bit used but then again I'm looking in my phone...

People have had some issues with quality from what I've heard but that price can't be beat.

Hey Lex, care to elaborate? I'd rather keep my stock exhaust than have to deal with broken welds or bad fitment. I don't care how cheap it is at that point. I don't plan on ever pushing over 400whp anyway so its not like I really need a CBE... But my inner ricer says I do so now I'm torn... Lol.

This was the offering from Mazda when the gen1 came out. I remember reading one of the flanges cracking over time on some but that doesn't mean it is a bad exhaust.

It is quite a bit louder than stock. Also at 300whp it is worth around 10hp and at 400whp it is worth closer to 20hp.

Hmmmm...if anybody buys that, I'd be very interested in knowing whether that tailpipe would bolt straight up to the stock Gen2 front section. I'm having trouble finding a good source for a mandrel-bent over-axle section for a simple muffler delete. This might work.

I hear there's some new website out and about called youtube. apparently people can take videos of things and post them online for other people to watch. It even has a pretty cool search option.

Another option for a similar price is the CNT. I paid $300 new for mine, but I had it shipped with my downpipe. It was $330 with shipping if I remember correctly.

When everyone was saying cheap as fuck, and I saw the $647 price, I was wondering if you all got stupid high or something.

I thought the CNT's were the cheapest out there that were good. And yes, these cracked a lot back in the day.

Was gonna pick up a CNT CBE, only problems i really heard about them were rattling which was easily fixed. Sunbiches are on back order for 30-60 days so im heading way of HKS CBE now.

Interested to see how these turn out, especially at that price.

Here are a few clips of my MS exhaust + test pipe.

Welds broke clear around and had to have them redone. I would just go for the CNT if price is the main concern.

Amazon just charged my card so I assume its actually gonna go through. I don't really care about the welds for the moment, since this won't be driven in the winter.

I have the mazdaspeed accessory exhaust. Have had it now for like 3yrs no issues. Hope they honor the price! Because I think someone made a mistake.

Amazon prices fluctuate quite a bit for certain items so I'm pretty sure the price was legit. Best way to know is add it to your wish list, itll tell u how much price dropped or raised since u added it.

True. If you find something on Amazon that you're pretty sure you want, just put it in your cart and leave it there for a week or more. If it's an item that they don't really sell many of (like an exhaust or an intake), they'll keep dropping the price to entice you into buying it.

I bought an intake for my MSM from Autoanything, and they'll price match anybody for a year after your purchase. I put the same intake in my Amazon cart and ended up getting almost $100 back from Autoanything on the price match guarantee two weeks later.

?!?! wtf I have a Speed Daddy arriving tomorrow and I didn't go for a Magnaflow because they were $750 everywhere I looked. I hope it arrives damaged and I can return it - I wanted a quiet CBE and planned to add a long resonator / high flow muffler.

FYI the magnaflow is not quiet. Its actually really really loud. Much louder than Corksport's exhaust. If you want cheap, quiet, but nice deep tone you need to look at the CNT or HKS offering. The Magnflow sounds great, but it is very loud.

I guess everyone's perception of loud is different - I'd read that it was one of the quieter exhausts several places.

I've heard the Speed Daddy is obnoxiously loud and gargles like a hungry hooker, so I figured I could keep it under $500 to fix the hangers / mid-brace rattle / add a resonator.

Watching Youtube vids is misleading for the most part - everyone's recording equipment / distances / DP/TP setups are just too many variables to make a judgement.

This weekend I got to hear my exhaust, cnt, a corksport and a magnaflow. All with down pipes. I can tell you that mine was by far the least loud. Barely louder than the stock guys until I get on it. There is no question that everyone is going to have different opinions of what's loud, but I can say with certainty the cnt will be the cheapest and least loud you can get. But they are on back order ATM.
