Default Catch can Catch 22

Just finished the BNR S4 install and E-tuning as we speak. I have read a lot about catch cans for our platform. I would rather not have one if I can help it. If I have to, I will get a MD or JBR and mount it to the transmission to keep it as warm as possible during super cold days.

Are there any big turbo guys currently running without any catch cans? I just don't want to deal with the frozen hoses and frozen can problem during winter months.

Hoses freeze and clog due to improper hose routing.
Freezing in the can is a non-issue unless the can is full.
If your can is full, you're lazy AF. I set the bar for laziness and I can manage to drain my can occasionally.

A larger turbo creates more crankcase pressure which is too much for the oem pcv system. You need an upgraded pcv system.

Although I dont drive my MS6 in the winter, I put a trouble light beside the can when its parked in the garage with a 25W bulb. I get -22s F/-30s C a few times over the winter months. i dont need a frozen can if I need to pull the car out of the shop. Thats a cheap option, but you would need to remove it before driving.

I would look into a low wattage heating pad...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079GBWVDX...ding=UTF8&th=1
like a block heater, this might keep the can warm enough to stop freezing solid. This would be a more permanent solution and could be plugged in like a block heater. Most cars here have block heaters, I have the one in my winter car on a timer. It turns on 2 hours before I leave for work. I also have a space heater mounted under the dash connected to the same connection as the block heater cuz Im a cold weather pussy

What are the symptoms of the can/line being frozen? I have a DM stage 1 can routed by the horns, my car is my daily driver and it gets cold as hell here in Massachusetts, my car has been running fine. unless I'm not paying that close attention..
