Default Cobb AccessPORT Pre-Order anyone?

Performance Racing is now offering products from Cobb Tuning!

We have in stock about a dozen of the new 350Z and RX-8, plus 10 of the STi Cobb APs sitting on the shelves. With our high amounts of sales in these markets, we are able to bring the Cobb AccessPORT to the Mazdaspeed community!

As of now, this is only available for the Mazdaspeed 3 models.

We have our pre-order in for a minimum of 12 units, 1 of which is already sold.
We anticipate these to be selling very very fast, especially at the price we are selling these at for all pre-orders.

Cobb is unable to provide an accurate release date, but from more than one source, I am hearing it is VERY soon, end of this month. One contact at Cobb claims end of May, but was unsure.

Price is $695.00 with FREE Overnight shipping!
includes everything you need with software, instructions, cables, etc. At this price, you are guaranteed your AccessPORT once it arrives in our inventory.

A 25% minimum deposit is required for all who are serious about the Cobb AccessPORT tuning solution. This guaranteed your unit, be one of the first!

Additional Details
AccessPORT Features Include:

» Improve horsepower, torque, and fuel economy at the touch of a button

» Display vehicle data such as boost, RPM, temperatures and more while you drive

» Easy installation, no mechanical or computer skills necessary

» Connects to your vehicle via the OBD-II port conveniently located under your dash

» Pre-calibrated to maximize performance of stock or modified vehicles

» Easy-to-read color display

» Update over the Internet to stay up-to-date with the latest features

» Read engine trouble codes (DTC) yourself, eliminating trips to the dealership

» Not a "piggyback" - once vehicle's computer has been programmed by the AccessPORT, it can be removed and the settings will stay on your computer.

» Not just an "ECU reflash" - AccessPORT features enhancements such as on-the-fly mode switching, data monitors, reading DTCs, performance monitors and more

Stage 1 Kit Includes:

- AccessPORT
- Quick Start User Guide
- USB Cable
- OBDII Connector
- Software CD

Thank you all for your interest!
If you have any questions, please shoot us an email, PM, or post here. I will be updating this post as additional information is available to us, along with pre-order/purchase information.

I would be interested in this if Cobb would get their act together and stop giving bs release dates. The AP could come out next month or a year and a month, no one knows.

I vote never. They don't like mazdas too much. Lied about the MS6 for too long. Sorry about the negativity. Just a sore subject. They make good products, just not for the MZR. I dont even want to get started on their intake. Its either too soon or never at all.

I agree, plus I'm not a fan of silicone style intakes, metal FTW! If Cobb has an official release date the end of April/May, I'm very interested.

Wow, that's a long wait!

There is still no hard core ETA except for "Very very soon"

We are only notified once our pallet is shipped.

BTW - We will have ALL Cobb MS3 items in stock along with the AccessPORTs.

Cobb lost me as a potential customer, unless this thing puts out amazing numbers. They have been dicking us around for over a year, now postponing us for a nissan skyline gtr, which isn't even out and there are only like 1500 being sold in the u.s., therefore a significantly smaller market than the mzr. They show no care for our car, I would assume they haven't even started on it yet and they have lied way too many times.

(if it makes huge power I reserve the right to take back all comments made above).

But still, it's bullshit. No offense to the OP, I hope you sell a bunch of them, even though I think it's sad that Cobb is going to get rich after lying to us for so long, a lot of people in the ms community will buy this thing regardless.

I believe the number one reason most people like the Cobb AP is because of o the user's ability to turn the 'flash' on/off, and the ease of install/use.

I have spoken with Cobb and they clearly stated they don't see a future in the MS3 and since they are a small company, don't have plans for a car with little interest in the market. I wish they would just read the forums, and I'm sure they do.

They should understand the GT-R will be tackled by MANY other tuners out there, some of which have options already.. CP-E is also working on the GT-R as well.

However, the Cobb AP is still another great option for the mild tuner. For those with extensive mods and want the most of their cars, they should go for a Piggyback/Standalone solution.

The gtr market is a much smaller market, and those things are going to sit in garages.

The GT-R market is going to be so small, its not funny. Do you really think many people who mod cars like we do, are going to be owning the GT-r? As expensive as that car is going to be, it will be 3 times more Niche than our market. What Cobb fails to realize is that the DISI engine is being used in future Mazda cars. So much for them doing their research.

at this point i'm starting to think you'd be better off taking your chances with the standbacks cp-e, xede, procede whatever else.

Cobb has a pretty active presence on m3f.com as well as their own forums, and what you say is pretty contradictory to anything I've seen from them. Can you elaborate?

I'm asking these questions in all seriousness... What has Cobb lied about? Who said they are postponing anything MS3 related to work on the GTR? How have they shown they don't care about our market and what makes you assume they haven't even started working on the AP?

I'd be lying if I said I could care less if the AP was ever released. I'm all for more tuning options for my car, but it's not like other options don't exist. I don't lose any sleep because it hasn't been released. The same goes for the delays nearly everyone else is having with making their products (tuning and hard parts) available to market. Hell, if I had that attitude my car would still be almost stock since I had an extended wait for my exhaust, my downpipe, and my manifold.

I'd rather wait and get something correct the first time, then get something early that doesn't work, that I have to send back, or blows up the earth.

Its called customer expectation management. When you constantly push back release dates you are doing a piss poor job of it. One or two pushbacks is acceptable.. Cobb needs to start making reliable release dates.

Lol, I'm sure Cobb has reasons but I agree, if they constantly push back the dates, they lose customers, annoy customers and its not good at all for Cobb.

Cobb doesnt care about the Mazda market. They are going after high production numbers. Suburu's are their bread and butter. Hell, i havent found one EVO owner out here who runs Cobbs stuff.
