CP-e RMM price increase

This I don't understand. I sell Corvette performance parts for a living and the economy is super bad right now. our sales for 2010 were cut in half as compared to 2009. All I can say to CPE is do well while you can, this is going to hurt you in the long run. I can see a 10-15 percent increase, but 100 percent is crazy.

Just like they claimed demand caused the price to go up, demand will also cause them to not sell any of these uber priced mounts especially with competitors being marginally cheaper.

Unless of course there is some price fixing and the competitors raise their prices as well.

I think you mean significantly cheaper. Marginally cheaper would be "slightly cheaper."

I'm not defending Cpe but I've been emailing sander with a few questions and he mentioned something about getting a new supplier for the rmm bushings (rear mm's only). Maybe their cost with the new supplier went up and it reflected in the revised price - this is the only reason I could see such an increase. Maybe they are now having the bushings made in the USA rather than china - it's usually a lot more to manufacture in the USA. I would support the USA product over imported but it's sad to see such an increase. They have the mounts at cpe but need the bushings.

Not sure why it went up so high and I hope there is some rationale on their end. Top notch products but the added cost doesn't help.

Wow this is kinda funny. TWM is now selling CP-E products and they made a facebook post about it. I saw the $239 price and then loaded CP-E's page (it was still $139 at this point) so I made a comment asking them why I would buy it through them when they are scalping me for $100, when I can just get it from CP-E direct.
They deleted the entire status.

That's INSANE. I could see if they raised it 30% or even 35%, but 72%!?!?! That's like a car dealership markup just before they give you all those great rebates.

For anyone considering the SURE RMM, I have the Torque R6, and I LOVE it. Solid, stout piece. Really puts the power down faster. ELIMINATED shift shock. And the vibes are only noticeable at idle...sometimes. And Like them. I know it's the MS6 one, but still....

Damn, CP-E. You must be the same people balancing the budget for the State of California.

I would be willing to bet that bushing does not cost more than $20. Prices get much cheaper when you buy in quantity.

Well i will say this.. in choosing your supplier for the bushings wouldn't you look to a company that could keep prices competitive with your competition, so you wouldn't have to increase the price 72%. That would be the smart thing to do from the business side of things. Increasing the price this much, hurts CP-E's customer base. Less Customers,Less Money.. Less Money, Less research and development into new products.. and the list goes on from that point.

I imagine the contribution margin before at ~100 dollars but now its completely ludicrous at the kind of the profit they expect to be turning. Hopefully, people will check the price laugh and order a different piece from someone else (SURE).

Honestly even at the old price the SURE piece is even easier to install (no sandwiching the mount when installing it), and theoretically since it has less separate components shouldn't it therefore have less failures?

I agree with you 100% - who knows why it went up so much?

But remember it seems things are out of stock more often than not. More like they buy 100 at a time vs 1000.

I placed and order with rpm for a cp-e rmm, if that does not work out I am going for the SURE RMM. Also just ordered KMD internals and will more than likely cancel the cp-e fuel pump order--wonder if I am ever even going to get the pump.
