(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Many have been keeping up with the updates, results, etc from the other threads as well as on other forums. Flash tuning is becoming more and more common because of its ease, cost per hp, safety, Current: The first release will be our Stage I reflash. Not only does our Stage I software give you higher peak numbers , but also peak gains of up to 40 horsepower on a stock Mazdaspeed3 and 37whp on the Mazdaspeed6! This software is the ultimate upgrade for your Mazda and gives it just the extra edge these cars lack from the factory, without pushing the limits. With factory like smoothness and drivability, the new power will fill the void in an otherwise excellent car. The Stage I reflash can be used with all your bolt on modifications (intake, downpipe, exhaust, manifold, intercooler upgrade, BOV, etc). You will see HP/TQ increases as you add these aftermarket upgrades. All upgrades are also available through Performance Racing ![]() In the future: Once the community responds to our custom reflash software, and more people get on the boat, things will only get better. I am the sole owner of Performance Racing, and am not int eh business just for money. Many know who I am and a lot about my car from the other forum(s). I intend to reinvest the the money to create better tunes, purchase new hardware that will allow us to better support modifications. This includes making trips to dynos, testing on customer's ECUs, etc. Our Stage 2 software will been specifically developed to attain the best possible performance from cars with more extensive bolt on performance modifications. The Stage 2 software is tuned on vehicle applications using an aftermarket bypass/blow-off valve, a quality aftermarket performance exhaust system and a good air intake induction system. Furthermore, our Stage 2 software can be used with a de-cat exhaust for race or track use. The tuning style is more aggressive than the basic (Stage 1) performance software, and will typically yield 10-15% more usable power. Stage 2 will be available, again, once the market responds better to our Stage1, and will be available at discount to those who have purchased our Stage 1 software. Stage 3/+ reflashes will consist of the most aggressive, yet safest, tune we can possibly provide for you. Suported modifcations will include GT3071/6, and hopefully GT28/GT35 Supported maps as well (You should be able to use our GT30 reflash on a GT28 turbod vehicle, but we will have to do testing first!). Of course, the GT3071R reflash will be off my car, with a 3" MAF, 3" Turbo Inlet, 3" TBE, 20lbs boost, all the way to redline , using the HKS SSQV (or similar) BOV. Details to come soon!Updates: This is where I will post the latest updates regarding the reflash software. -Coming soon: Throttle Plate Control, 17lbs to 7000RPM by raising rev limiter! All upgrades use encryption, which serve several purposes. Mainly, it keeps prying eyes out of our software and prevents lesser companies from copying the chip and degrading the product. How? How does Performance Racing reflash your ECU? The basic reflash is very simple. Customer ships us their ECU, we read it, send the file to Piasini and within minutes to several hours, we are sent back an updated file, which we will load back into your ECU. This is done on an individual basis per customer. We will then overnight the ECU back to customer (included in our pricing). Group purchases where I can come out to a location of about 6+ buyers, I can flash all ECU is also an option, along with special group pricing. Last, you come to me. I am located in Orlando, FL and will be happy to flash ECUs, also.. details to come. You then install it back and are ready to ![]() Flash Tuning Results Alright, so what do you get out of our basic/Stage I reflash? As of today, we have results from a Mazdaspeed 3 with just an SRI, a stock Mazdaspeed 6, and stock CX-7. Basically: Speed3 w/CAI: 233whp Reflashed Speed3 w/CAI: 273whp =40whp increase! Stock Speed6: 223hp Reflashed MPS6: 37whp max gains ~260whp Mazda3 MPS (Stock) Dyno: Datalogs for 1-3rd gears, only 16psi, look at 3rd gear around 5500RPM, it's holding about 15lbs. ![]() Above graph is with an CAI. Many more dynos, graphs, etc to come as we progress (will be posted in this thread). How do I Purchase? We accept PayPal, Credit Cards, Money Orders, Cash (In-Person only), and Electronic Transfers. First 20 buyers: $689.99! Pricing will be comparable the LEAST expensive PNP EMS out there ![]() Price includes: Performance Racing's Stage 1 reflash, overnight shipping the ECU back to you (if mailed in), limited lifetime warranty, and our guarantee! The first 12 will include a variety of Mazdaspeed3/6 drivers, testers, etc. They will get exclusive pricing, free updates, and exceptional pricing on our upcoming Staged reflashes ![]() Reflashing IS AVAILABLE for both Mazdaspeed models, as well as MANY other applications which we will be ale to support from Acura Integras to rolls Royce Phantoms. Having a buddy send his ECU in will count in on the initial orders. Please PM me for other applications. Also, we are working on guaranteeing the reflash capabilities in the USDM Mazdaspeed3/6. Right now, we are 95% certain it will work, just need to test out some things on a test vehicle, very soon ![]() A LOT more developments are coming soon and many can only be done safely with a complete reflash of your ECU. I tried to cover as much as I could, so I am sure I missed some points. If anyone has ANY questions, please feel free to post, PM, IM, Email us. Thank you all for reading and for your interests, Pathik Performance Racing Last edited by Performance Racing; 03-27-2008 at 12:55 AM. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score wow, i was pretty set on the Cobb AP but will def. be watching this closely. I was kinda like 'eh' when I read about hwo I'd have to send in my ECU....reprogram and get it back. THEN, I saw you were in Orlando and it totally changed, lol. Like I said I'll keep my eyes on this for sure...need price for stage 1! The dyno/datalogs, is that from an actual MS3 you have here in the states or a car overseas (that has the ecu data stuff we'd be getting) |

It will be cheaper than any PNP available for the Speed3. The above charts are from an Mazda3 MPS (overseas). They produce less hp from the factory. Not sure on the Speed3, but the MPS6 is 260bhp, where it is 274bhp in the states.

| Just go dyno and log with the dashhawk. Should be easy to make your program to flash. Rip the ECU out, overnight it.. have him overnight it back. Done deal. I mean, the Cobb AP is going to have probably 2 maps. Than they are going to turn it down to a very conservative level. It will be probably 1 year if not longer before we see the software to tune it ourselves. I dont have time to wait an additional year man.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score As described in our PM convo, mailing in your ECU is the best way right now. For everyone else to see an example, You remove and overnight me your ECU on Monday.. I receive it, read it, flash it, and mail it back all on Tuesday, and you'll have it ready to install on Wednesday morning. Most people, like me, only have one car, and use it every single day, I understand. Best advise is to get a ride from a buddy, borrow a car (friend/family) or possibly rent a car. This is the same way that Hondata does it's reflash service. |

| I did it on my Lightning before i had to go with SCT when they came around. It works and it was painless. Truck ran butter smooth man. Little insight.. I had a merkur and superchips did my ECU reflash back in 1991... Gained over 77 to the wheels with the reflash, bigger injectors and wastegate mod. No one knew who they were back than

| That's only if Cobb stays on the ball and continues to release maps. Otherwise, you're in the same boat but with this option, you can continue to upgrade the programming.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score About 95% SURE. We have confirmation the ECU is physically, internally the same, ALL designed using the SAME software from Mazda. All that's left is reflashing the ECU itself on an US car and see what results we achieve, VERY similar to the AUS models, since we will begin with their reflash. VERY safe and effective vs a Piggyback. No lose wires, no wiring, no hassle, and nobody will know what you got ![]() I was even told the MS3/MS6 ECUs are very similar as far as tuning/programming. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ah, great question! Stock turbo will max out at about 17.8lbs.. As of now, the current flash is at 16lbs from Piasini and is the same in the graphs I posted. I want to do 17.5lbs, and will be working on this as well, to go into our Stage 2 reflash. I need an MS3 I can hold onto for a few days lol. If I had one for just a week, I can make several maps. |

Also, a side note. If you do have to go into the dealership for a PCM update/reflash, your ECU will go back to stock. In this case, we will reflash your ECU again at no cost.

psi, so we're aiming for 17.5lbs in our Stage 2. To add to that, APR, Revo, etc who do the flash tuning on the VW/Audis on a daily basis are using the same exact technique for flashing as we do. I watched as Forge Motorsports (here in Orlando), tuned it's first GTi with the Revotechnik reflash. They use the K03 turbo, at 17.8lbs as well. None allow end-user tunability. Off topic, I posted this elsewhere, but my friend's GTi (MKV) runs 13.4 with just Intake, TBE, Stage 2 reflash.. currently the fastest known DSG GTi.

| Not Ranked : 0 score there are a few guys out there with the VF engineering RSS upgrade kits on DSG, proving to have some nice power. Anywho, the Revo software is end user adjustable with the SPS programmer, which can tune the timing aggression - FYI. I think that is all that it does though. Keep us updated!

| Not Ranked : 0 score I have a question... You have a Speed6, how come you haven't reflashed yours yet? I mean you should do it and post the dyno results here. I am more interested on looking at the speed6's dyno sheets than the speed3's since I own the speed6. If you can do that then that would be great. |

A stock Speed6 has been flashed, and I will try to get the dyno, if even available, but the gains are posted in the first post, of 37whp at 5500rpm.
VERY hard to find, but I know a place, $615.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I have a spare speed3 ECU somewhere in America. I'll figure out where it is, if you're interested.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Congrats on First to Market. One Question, how does the Flash affect the ECU's learning ability? With the ECU eventually overcome the Flash or will it work to maintain the parameters set by the flash? For Instance, if I do something to affect AFR or Psi or something the ECU controls and monitors, will the ECU correct itself back to stock by working against and overriding the flashed values or will it work with the parameters set in the flash? -mk -just re-read that and I'm having a hard time understanding it. If it doesn't make sense let me know. I'm at work right now and don't have a lot of time to type. |
