(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I after 2 weeks of waiting I finally got my car back from the Ford dealer where i lucked out and they replaced my turbo, boost control solenoid, and did mazda's new smoking turbo pcv system fix. I lucked out BIG TIME. Guy at the Ford dealer was INCREDIBLE, guy at the mazda dealer they sent my car to was a moron. Apparently he thought my dashhawk was a ecu programmer and accused me of over boosting the car since he thought the car only ran 8psi. Anyway, what i wanna know is with a brand new turbo and their pcv fix what are the odds itll start smoking again? Im wanting to do a downpipe at some point in the near future. How big is the breather hose with this kit and am i gonna have to modify my corksport tip to fit it? i was thinking of pulling out the boost control solenoid vacuum line and putting a T there if i had too since it looks like it wont fit on the old breather hose nipple. I have a couple of ideas on how to maybe help this problem which brings me to my next question: I know a pcv system sucks in through the breather hose via the pcv valve at idle for kind of a blow through effect but what if i introduced vacuum from both the breather hose and pcv valve at the same time and used check valves that close the vacuum source for the breather hose during boost and provide vacuum through the breather hose via the intake like normal? My idea originated from thinking that during boost the pcv valve is hopefully closed and the crankcase is getting vacuum through the breather hose and because the pcv is closed theres not a blow through effect like at idle except for the blow by you get from the pistons. It would operate as normal during boost but my question is would it hurt the engine, seals, etc, if the crankcase had that much vacuum at idle with no blow through effect except whatever blow by that passes the piston rings. It would definently increase vacuum at idle though. Ive been browsing around and googling my ass off for 2 weeks and i cant seem to find any info that says my idea wont work nor can i find any info on anyone whos tried this or if itll hurt the engine. Any ideas? |
