Welp, I sold my MS3 a few weeks ago. It will be missed. It was a great car, but my insurance hated it and I screwed myself on the car payment/interest when I bought it. I had that "i'm not leaving here without a car" mindset. Dealer ripped me a new one.

So after 3 years of paying way too much for a car, I finally had enough cash to get ahead on it.

It's gone now.

After 2 weeks of driving my old honda and my old 1990 F250. I found a car that I'm pretty happy with. It's paid off and the insurance is very cheap (surprisingly).

Picked her up Saturday.

It's mint, other than two small dings on the whole car. Getting the paintless dent pullers to hit that up.

It feels good to be back in a reliable un-molested Honda.

It's an 02 with 71k miles, never been touched with mods.

Only complaint... There is no where to put shit! But that's ok, just means that I can't pile junk up in it back the back seats of my previous cars.

I didn't like the blue interior at first, but it really grew on me.

And that's bugs on the front bumper from the drive from the dealer, no rock chips ha. There are a few very tiny chips on the front though.


















I will still be coming back to the forums and checking up on things.

Haha You have no idea how bad I want to.

but that will have to wait. In a year it won't be my daily anymore, so I have to wait until then.

In the meantime I will do Intake/header/exhaust to beef things up a little.

I say, at least for that car, fuck a turbo. Leave it NA and go ITB with cams and full exhaust... thats for sure win!!!!

light with power when you want it. Besides the back end of that model year likes to break out at a moments notice, where later models the back end krept out instead of jumping out. So the punch of a turbo would be hard to control through transitions of weight. just a thought...

agreed the ap2 would have been a better choice. ive heard that the motor on the ap1 doesnt hold up well and go boom. dont know how true that is cuz i dont have an s2k

Drives like a new s2000. I've driven probably 4 ap2s and 3 ap1s before I bought this car. Honestly, I really can't tell a difference, the ap2 is just a little more refined, has a little extra storage inside the car and a little more leg room. Of course, wider tires, more tq, but a lower redline. They are pretty much equal to me. For the price, I couldn't pass up the ap1. The ap2s seem to still be going for $15k+ in my area with the same amount of miles.

It's a daily for 1-2 years. After I get married in a year and then she pops out a kid, it will become a track car.

The ap1 has a stout engine, some people say that they drop valves, but from reading threads it's pretty far and in between, and those had been over revved. It's kind of like MS3s blowing up, it gets blown out of proportion.

here to straighten a few things out from a ton of personal experience
AP1 is plenty stout for boost, valves are fine but the retainers can crack if over revved

DONT go n/a unless you want to drop 5k and not even get to 300whp

i have had mine for like a month. i think i have found all the compartments, but where is this secret one?

mine is an 05 that had 62k miles on it, and i got it for 14,300. it is in pretty good shape, although, i've had to spend alot of time cleaning it up, but thats a story for another day.

i like the looks of that trackforged kit.

Yeah it's a local shop that has worked on A LOT of S2K's. I went to their BBQ in March and they had that kit on a S2K and it looked top notch.

s2000s are sex for the most part. I dont know too much about em, other than when you boost em they are insane fast. I have heard that the motor&exhaust flows really well already, and you dont get much gains from i/h/e so maybe keep it stock and save money for turbo kit

you are definitely correct, i had i/h/e and had no noticeable power gains... for the money get an intake and it sounds beautiful, if you want it louder at a catback but i wouldnt go drop 1500 on the 3, its not a typical honda you dont get anything from cams or exhaust work

the "secret" compartment is the one that opens up (with the wind deflector) you open the center console and the handle is hidden inside it on the top

You probably won't believe this but I was paying $220 a month for the speed 3 insurance, no tickets ever (that actually showed on my record ha), no accidents ever.

The s2k is $60 a month with better coverage.
