I traded in a '08 for a '10. I like the '10 more. Handles better, rides better, has a better quality interior. Plus it has much nicer wheels and dual exhaust. I wasn't sure about the grin at first, so I got black and you can't even notice it. While I liked my Gen 1 a lot, it just seemed plain to me, which I am sure some like. I prefer the hood scoop and bigger wing of the Gen 2. Plus the pricing on the new cars if you shop around is great.

Correct. My apologies for any slight misunderstanding. Usually when we speak of a car being "faster" we mean 0-60 and 1/4 times.

No hate from me on the Gen 2. They fixed my major grip from the Gen 1 - suspension. The wider tires are nice plus as well. I think the low end grunt people experience are just a result of retaining the factory intake.

Having said that, there's really no substitute for the sleeper appeal of the Gen 1. The Alecantra and piano black accents are just icing on the cake.

Question about the gearing on Gen 2. Everyone always talks about how the gearing is longer, and the specs as well. Yet the shifting points are almost exactly the same, I mean 1st gear is roughly 30mph, 2nd is 50mph, doesnt go to 60...3rd is about 80, same as gen1..Is this because the tire diameter of the gen2 is smaller than gen1? I figured longer gearing would mean higher speeds in each gear!

1st gear is the same, so it should be very similar. 2nd-5th are geared higher, and the main area that you notice this is roll racing from proven speeds in a given gear on the gen 1. A 40mph roll in 3rd on a gen 1 is the sweet spot, but the gen 2 will bog there. Get the gen 2 up to about 45mph in 3rd, and it's perfect. The gearing isn't going to be extremely different, but it is definitely higher.
