If at the shop, and it gets totaled, not much luck getting parts. The drivers seat will have structural stress from the impact, and should be added to the replacement, as well as the seat belt. Little things nobody things of, but those are a 1 hard impact use deal. Next wreck, they might fail.

Funny thing is, I was headed to the shop to drop off my sparco evo seat to get some brackets fabbed. Even more ironic, I have a mazda 2 as my rental car now

that depends on the shop, the ones i dealt with when my car was totaled let me part out in their parking lot before insurance took my car away. I'd call the shop and see their stance on it. Keep in mind that the shop cannot release the car to insurance before you sign off on it so don't let them until you can get there and stock out.

hope they can fix the car.

Shit, I know what that's like... took it up from behind by a guy with no insurance at like 40mph. I guess he was able to provide some kind of insurance, but I'm still waiting for my deductible.

Insurance will probably total it. Who's your insurance provider? If you have any questions about dealing with them, etc. feel free to shoot me a PM, and I may be able to lend some advice.

Anywho, I hate to vulture, but if they give you the option to buy the car back, LMK. I'd be interested in the WHOLE car... I'd make sure to sweeten the deal for you too.

Yes it does suck. I got mercury insurance but I wasn't at fault. Guy rear ended by a new mustang behind me who then smashed into me. He has AAA insurance. It's a slow process waiting for everything. I think I should be able to be repaired one way or another. If my body shop says it's unrepairable I'll def be buying back. I'll give you first dibs on getting her. I have tons of money in her and don't really want to strip down to nothing and scrap the frame /body. Hopefully I'll be back on the road in a month or so...I'll LYK

Damn... I'm pretty sure that's totaled.. I got rear-ended and it wasn't even half that bad. It was hard enough to slightly bend at the rear quarter panel and that was about 7 G's. Good luck tho!

fuck that's expensive. If it is totaled, I'm hoping the repair bill is less than the insurance payout and cost of buy back. It's already a salvage title, so i that already going against me.

I'll be buying back before I'll be parting out. You'd be amazed how little it cost... I bought back my $23000 subbie for like $3600.

An impact like that would likely cause damage to the frame. I dealt with AAA many times, as they are my insurance company, but also got rear ended a few times with people that had AAA. The nice thing is they can cut you a check and you can do as you wish with the funds (speaking in a general sense, not when your car is totaled. I have quite a bit of experience dealing with insurance companies unfortunately. If you need any help, just holla!

Looks like it'll be repairable. But it's gonna cost about $6000. Now I gots to wait for the insurance company to pay me. Hopefully I don't get screwed on my money

I'm not sure I'd want that much damage repaired, honestly.

Particularly with a vehicle that's already a salvage title deal. You got any idea of the
history on this thing? Where was the original damage?

You're going to have mechanical ghosts haunting you forever lol. shitty(er) rear alignments, rattles galore, misaligned panels. I'd rather take the total, and buy it back and part out and start fresh.

My buddies 2010 got rear-ended as bad as yours, and it's not been good to him after the repairs.

Originally something fell on the hood, not in a moving accident. I saw the damage and it wasn't that bad. I have to much money in this car and enjoy it too much. Plus I lost a good amount of $ in my last Subaru that I wrecked and don't want to start a new money pit. Anyways I just got a new work van so this is basically my weekend ride and track car

Well, they don't total a car and/or give it a salvage title for hood damage. Gotta be more to the story than that. Depending on the state, it takes 70 to 75% to total.

Now that it is a salvage title, as you probably know, the ACV will be reduced by 30 - 35%
off of the full retail, making this damage probably a killer.

Any damage _can_ be repaired. Whether you find a competent bodyman is key.
