Our CEO (who drives a Toyota Tundra) owns a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep store... Soon Ford as well, So needless to say I got a great deal on the new body style. I have to say I'am a little disappointed it does not ride better... the 05+ has a much better ride.

I saw a Speed 6 for sale a few months ago with 165k miles. The car was stock. Take care of it and it will last.

Is that jeeps numbers? I have not seen motor trend or car and driver test one yet. If those are numbers are from jeep I am sure they are underestimated..
I hope lol

1 Clutch at 81k, 3 sets of plugs, coolant flush, and about 50 bottles of techron

Oh and all the sets tires and brakes but nothing else really just regular oil changes, if you never knew the cars mileage you would swear it had 60k on it, still drives like it did when it had 20k on it.

A couple weeks ago, I bought an 08 ms3, its got 136k on it right now. It runs, looks, and drives like a 50k car. I bought it from a 65 year old guy who used it to commute. He had it dealer serviced from the time he bought it new. Got a stack of paperwork with, plus the best thing I bought it extremely cheap. I am going to use it as my daily driver. We will see how long it will last, I am in the process of beginning to mod it.

Now that I am cutting back on the miles I am going to mod it more starting with TBE, Tune, FMIC, I currently only have a SRI and rear motor mount.

We will see how she holds up after the extra mods.

lol Lets get past the first few set of mods and if she's still rock solid I will go with a 3071R
I would like to revive this thread if possible.
Were any of the listed mods done?
What's the verdict on longevity with mods?

I've got 92k on the clock with motor mounts/COBB AP/SRI & just regular maintenance.

Not going to get rid of the car (ever probably) but I'm torn on more modding.
Additional mods: COBB DP/TPI, AT pump internals, Air Oil Separator, additional fuel filter, E85 tune

The concern I have is that I'm just creating a headache with the additional mods & mileage. The car has been great, I don't want something to go wrong every week.

Anyway, any comments would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the reply/info, that's indeed an impressive build.

Lets be honest though, the only thing stock on the car is the body & interior.
The engine at most has 20k on a significantly stronger than stock configuration.

If anyone has high mileage on a highly modded engine with stock internals please chime in.

I didn't build it till I had 160k on it... and it would have kept going strong, but I loaded it up a little too much in 5th gear from a roll and bent a rod. - it was making around 440whp at that time

besides the bent rod that only issue that was found during the tear down was my OEM clutch was starting to separate from the plate. - lots of abuse on the oem clucth

I'm currently at 141,400 miles. Only mods are FSDs, an MSCAI and a HT tune. Turbo and VVT replaced under warranty. Also replaced EGR valve, thermostat, serpentine belt, FSB bushings, front pads/rotors and rear pads.
Maintained by Mazda's Schedule 1(7,500 mile service intervals)
Mobil 1 5W-30 EP
Brake fluid changed at least annually
Motorcraft XT-M5-QS changed every 30,000 miles

I was pretty curious on this myself. I just purchased my MS3 with 12K miles on it, now almost at 17K. I have normal bolt ons. SRI, TIH, stock DP, corksport test pipe, cat back exhaust, Autotech internals, JBR RMM, soon to be upgraded TMIC, and oil catch can next week. I'm wondering with this set up how many miles I can drive this thing before shit starts hitting the fan. (It's my DD)
I'm glad this thread was revived. My buddy had an MS3 and would beat the piss out of it every day, fully bolted w over 300whp and drove it like that until 50K miles with no issues before he traded it in. I'm also curious on the lifespan of the stock K04's on these cars.

Thanks for this post, I'm glad to hear about the clutch too. I don't abuse mine too much (I guess that's relative..)

I feel better about my build now, all in all it's still mild by comparison.
i'll post if I have any issues.
