Intermittent knock noise while on boost

Hey guys. I never actually post in forums but i’m stumped. There isn’t a single video i could find with a similer sounding problem. I have a 2007 speed3 with 191k. I bought it used with an upgraded motor mount, cobb cai, and forge bov. Not sure if any of these mods are relevent, basically only when the car is under load in boost, this strange intermittent knock sound comes from the Engine bay area. It can be one knock every second, or a hundred a second and anywhere in between as i travel up the rpms. There’s really no way to know when it’s going to knock and i have no idea where to start. My friend suggested the wastegate but i doubt it since i found no posts at all concerning the wastegate. Another thought it was uneven chain tension (i recently changed the vvt actuator chain and washers myself. It was making the noise before the job, then went away for about 2-3k km, and came back. Any help would be appreciated. I could get a video if need be. Just wondering if anyone ever had this problem before. Thanks!

if you are a stop and u rev ur engine and you dont hear that "knock" sound but you drive and hit the gas and boost up and hear it. i bet its your fuel injector seals. That was what my issue was long ago. i try to find the video and send you a link to see if its the same as yours.

Are you getting KR?

My accessport says the kr is 0. I will check on the injectors but a lot of people said the wastegate is an issue, as it happens quite often with the K04s.

well if your not getting KR then probly not injector seals. good luck!
