Default "Maxed Out" CDFP

MAXED OUT HPFP

Questions:

#1 Is this pump ready to go or is it still in development.
#2 What remains to be finished if it is in development.
#3 Does this pump require a return style fuel system.
#4 Will the factory intank pump be adequite to fuel this pump without cavitation.
#5 Has or can the spring pressure for the dump valve be modified to boost rail pressures.
#6 Has the dump valve been ported (or does it even need to be ported) to handle the increased flow so that the rail pressures dont spike.

Thanks.

I don't have his full pump, or even his internals, but I did let him modify my dump valve and rail feed line. My idle is about 200 psi higher than the highest idle pressure I've seen anyone else post.

How did he modify the dump valve? Ported?

I guess i'm wondering how important porting the dump valve is. First of all, by dump valve, we're talking about the relief valve on the fuel rail, right?

Does it require porting because the internal spill valves are "maxed out"? If it wasn't ported, wouldn't the ecu just command a higher spill valve duty cycle, and regulate pressure that way?

Plus the dump valve, as i understand it, shouldn't be doing anything at all at idle and pressures under ~1900psi.

I didn't send him my rail so it's not the bypass valve in the rail, the valve he modified is in the pump housing itself.. I think what he referred to me as the dump valve is actually the "pump feed valve" he refers to on that link...

Yeah I wanna know what exactly he can do with that valve. John made some posts today but skipped my thread lol.

The Maxed out is ready to sell, but they take a week to get done (don't keep one on the shelf).

This will allow for a much higher idle pressure, more volume and a very stable high pressure levels.

There is a ton of work that goes into making the pump "flow" and it allows your car to make better use of the volume. We have had several testers out there for a while (SSinstaller got the line a valve upgrade) and we will have some additional fuel upgrades getting added to the site here in a while (higher pressure relief valve on the rail anyone? (we are getting them made right now)).

The MAXED out pump will be for those looking for 500 WHP from the DI supply only and not requiring additional "fuel supply". If we get someone to actually make HP like this one day it will be the perfect tester for that car.

Let me know if you have any further questions and sorry about not getting back to you sooner speedy, we have been avoiding the site lately (obvious reasons).

Thanks.

#4 Will the factory intank pump be adequite to fuel this pump without cavitation.

Thanks.
1. built to order
2. the dump valve in the rail
3. No, but is sure would help to have twin pumps feeding it or a bosch 055 inline
4. yes, up to around 485 hp, but this is still to be determined if the HPFP needs anymore intank pump. The intank can flow more than enough fuel at 40 psi to supply a 500 HP motor, the HPFP builds the pressure to feed the motor. (I could go on all day about our new findings with this, but I need to get more testing done).
5. Yes, but its easier to replace it (4 weeks and we should have something for you to install on your rail).
6. Yes and no, still have to see what we can get done for this application.

Yep, and we have confirmed this on 4 other customers cars. Very high idle pressure and very stable fuel pressure under load.

Is the check valve at the pump, not the dump valve at the rail.
Its very important, the factory hole is a joke even if your running 2200 psi.
Yes, and no. The factory PCM can only go so far to control pressure, this is where the mods allow you to run more fuel with out the PCM controlling it (PCM thinks that your still feeding it xx volume, when in reality is xxx in volume).
Wrong valve, but we have new ones on the way.

Thanks for the help and its good to hear that the mods are working for you .

Will do, we have been working on getting this addressed for over a year now. We just found a supplier that can make them for us. If Cobb or CPE can address the control issues the pump, the valve will be needed for addtional fuel control. 2250 psi is where we decided to start with and we can continue to raise it from there.

Some of us have already been addressing the issue , no need to wait for cobb or cpe. I can run upto 2100ish psi (or more, i need to verify exactly how high the ecu will meter rail pressure, and eventually i'll be able to measure exactly how high our rail pressure maxes out at.)

Not sure if you've seen our thread on it, but here it is:
How to scale the HPFP pressure sensor

I have been reading in that thread and yes you have it figured out, and the valve will work great with that set up for sure. I only brought Cobb and CPE into the mix due to the amount of those that are on the market.

The #1 problem your going to run into with the higher pressure is the hard line coming off the pump starts to leak. Been there done that. We also blew a rail apart when we blocked the dump valve and then started to mess with the pump control. This is why they have a dump valve on the rail.

The pump can generate upwards of 4000 psi (spike pressure), I know this because I destroyed an $1100 pressure transducer when the rail blew apart. We couldn't figure out the control valve and that is when I started to get on Cobb's ass about finding the table so we could control this part of the pump.

I would like to give a hand with your project but since Lex seems to have an issue with me and my products I will elect to stay out of that thread for now. Don't need anymore stress over the holidays.

Sweet, ill probably pick up one of your big ass CDFPs next weekend then. Is there a core charge? I have two spare rails and dump valves...
