Ive stuff as simple as a intake, to a catback. Majority that get voided have a downpipe or race pipe, or even a combination of both. We have even see installation of gauges void. Its whatever the dealership feels like putting the blame on. What i would like to do when our new front end goes up is post this shady incidents online, giving the dealer name, the whole problem, what mods they used and hand them their ass by showing that their modifications didn't show failure of the part.

The problem was already there by documented TSB's. We even had a guy get voided for his rear bushing breaking on his MS6 and they blamed the heat from his aftermarket catback on the failure, although the same kind of catback sold by Mazdaspeed, theoretically, by their cause evaluation, would do the same thing. Totally lame and complete bullshit.

Well if they void the warranty, they have to give you your extended back in cash anyhow. So, really their is no loss. If you want to keep it within warranty, you are VERY VERY limited on what mods you can do. Now that MS no longer sells their CAI, you can only get their suspension and catback. You might find a used MSCAI somewhere and install it.

there extended warranties are held by an outside company well at least mine is through them so they couldn't void it. the company takes in there own claims so even if mazda has to do work on your car they submitt the bill to the company and they approve it or send out there own rep at that time.

Thumbs up

Hey guys. I'm a newbie. This is my first post. Picking up my black mica 2008.5 ms3 gt today! Keeping my silver 2004 2.3 hatch (bra, tint, 10in kicker subs/amp). Taking it straight from the dealer and getting dark tint, subs/amp, and wheels (going to see if I can get some 225/19/45's). Plenty of mods planned... Also, the reason I chose this thread for my first post... I am also getting ms cold air (installed later) and cat back exhaust (installed next week). As long as you buy certain ms parts from a mazda dealer and have it installed by them, IT IS COVERED by the remainder of your factory warranty!! My dealer said there was a problem with ms cold air and they stopped selling them while they work out what ever the problem is. Supposedly, they will go back on sell once they sort out the problem.

Well, I'm glad to be here guys... and my mouth is watering waiting on my dealer to open so I can get behind the wheel... Yep, you bet ur ass I ditched work today!

In my reading online, it seems that every dealership is different with regard to what mods they allow. It helps to have a good relationship with the service manager. You may have to take it to another dealership if one doesn't want to cover something under warranty. Might not hurt to have a conversation with the dealership about each mod before you do it to be sure.

Driving aggresively will void your warranty.

The catback is not a restriction on this car. You can run open exhaust from the midpipe back and it won't increase your power. So I wouldn't even waste my time with that mod. I like my warranty and plan on keeping it so the only mod I have done is wheels. Now I REALLY hope they don't void my warranty because of my wheels, that would burn.
