Default New Guy Introducing Myself

Hello,
I have a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 that I have owned for about a year and a half now. 64K and has every option from the factory. Cobb exhaust and downpipe, cork sport shifter bushings, and adj. front sway bar end links, short shifter, new oe struts and springs. Pervious owner had some Tein's and I really didn't like them. So I have a set for sale if someone is interested. lol I race a 1988 BMW 325is SpecE30 all across the southeast. I also have a 1990 Spec Miata and a 1990 Solo II Miata. The MS3 is my daily driver. I live in sweet home Alabama. I am a high performance driving instructor at Road Atlanta and Barber's Motorsports Park with several different organizations. I am a sales rep for Tire Centers Inc. TCi. We are a wholesale tire distribution company owned by Michelin. I have looked at several different posts that have been very helpful over the past year. This is a totally different type of car then I am use to. Well that me in a nut shell. Anything a complete MS3 noob should keep a watchful eye out for? Weak points or arrears of common failure. Thanks so much for any help and advice you can give me. I look forward to taking a more active approach to these forums. SpecE30Racer

Introduce yourself in introduction section not general discussion. The exhaust, downpipe, and all that stuff isn't from the factory either. Hopefully it's got the HPFP internals. And grab an AP while you're at it.

If it doesn't have fuel pump internals, you should definitely look into getting some right away. And the COBB AccessPort is a quick and easy way to gain a good amount of power through tuning.

If you're in the market, we are currently running a group buy on a bundle of the COBB AP V3 and fuel pump internals that you should definitely check out:

I know all the stuff is not from the factory. I bought the car used off Ebay and it came to me with most of the mods already done. The only thing I have down are the spring/shock combo, shifter bushings, and adj. sway bar end links. The car came with no records of any kind so I am just trying to get it into form to be my daily driver and keep it reliable and fun at the same time. The car is a BLAST to drive. I never realized how bad torque steer can be. lol Thanks for all the help and info.

you may already have fp internals, you'd have to pull the pump to know if its safe to boost though since you have the dp and exhaust mods.

Motor mounts are definitely a weak link, especially the rear motor mount (almost always referred to as rmm here)
