| Not Ranked : 0 score Hey Guys quick question, I have a MazdaSpeed 6 that has a Corksport racepipe and CBE. I'm looking into getting a downpipe but I can not use Corksports because they are Catless. With good ol Connecticut law I can not run catless. Will these other downpipes be compatible with what I'm running now? Will it make the car sound like Crap? |

Do you have a 1/2" drill bit? Order some spark-plug non-foulers and make the extender yourself. It's really simple and works like a charm. Does anybody make a 3" v-band upper downpipe for the MS3? I haven't been able to find one. The old style UR DP looks like it was made for a 3" v-band but knowing UR they would most likely charge extra for a non-standard option. It doesn't look like the MS3 flange -> v-band adapter would work either because I'd be working with a very limited amount of space. | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Far as I know a few people run the FRDP. If you want to go that route then do. Many, myself included don't see any sense in paying so much more for the name, but lots of people want the name as much as the product. Sometimes it just for the name, sometimes for the support or customer service. In the case of down pipes, I can get 3 or 4 m2's for the same cost, and the quality is comparable enough that I'm satisfied. As for performance, a dp is a dp is a dp...

| Not Ranked : 0 score For catless, yeah - but IDK about the catted downpipes. For example, I have a CNT and the catalytic converter looks like a few sheets of crimped metal in concentric circles. I'm not so sure that it so much converts catalytics as it just cools down the exhaust flow. It isn't even very good at that - I got the same PID people get from running catless. Backed out the o2 sensor with a single spark plug defouler (two defoulers set of the "cat is clogged" PID) and everything was a-ok. I don't mind as the reason I got the cat in the first place was to prevent boost spikes. I'm more than happy with it, largely because of the price - $300 shipped. The cast bell-mouth housing is awesome, welds are solid, etc. etc. I know that UR has two different catalytic converter options. I don't know if there's a huge difference between the two unless you're running like 500 whp or something, and even then you'd just leave the cat out. I've been running 17:1 AFRs at cruise/low loads and after 5k all seems well. Latest vDynos show 280whp and 320 lb-ft which is about right for 17 psi and 11* of timing @ RL. I'm not running any meth and my car is knock-happy so my timing curve is probably about 2* less than anyone else you're going to see here. If it goes bad or w/e I'll either pull off the pipe and knock it out or have a shop cut it out and weld in a straight pipe. Probably the former as I'm a pretty cheap bastard. |
