Possibly dumb question

I'm new to mazdaspeeds, I have experience with cars and modification to cars ( rx7s, s2000, g35) I'm using my phone and did my best searching forums and used google (I know how peeps get upset when you don't know google is your friend ha) I also can't find it in the manual.

I was wondering if anyone know what the little box with wires connected to it under the steering wheel adjustment lever. It's screwed in the plastic. The car was used, purchased from a girl who was in a band and hardly drove it due to being on tour.

maybe a turbo timer? does the car keep running after you turn it off?

No it's not a turbo timer it has no screen, doesnt have any markings related to performance parts companies, it's a tiny black box, it doesn't open or anything, has two tiny wires connected to it, I'm very experienced In audio and I don't think it has anything to do with audio equipment because I havnt found any mods what so ever running to the audio or motor.

Sometimes dealers install small boxes like that. They say its an alarm. Not sure they do anything other than give them an excuse to charge extra for it.

It's a LoJack-type device that dealers install and charge out the ass for.

They usualy hide lojacks a lil better then that. Can u follow the wires n see where they go

Hmm ok, so would lo jack or whatever work if I needed it too haha, or is it worthless since i bought it used, can I remove it or is it connected to the ECU and will possibly mess something up?
