PTP's CAT back exhaust system, soon to be TBE system.

So we have it done and jigged and we are ready to start selling them.

All T404 3" 16 gauge stainless steel tube and muffler, A572 1/2 thick flanges for longevity and proper sealing to the stock components. We use all the stock locations for hangers to keep the system simple to install with no under car fittiment issues. Our system will work with both our mid pipe and our down pipe (TBA). It will come with all the necessary gaskets for install of any tupe of system on the market. 4" slash tip thats polished, sound clips should be up soon.

A great price of $549.50 + shipping. We are still working on the price of the full TBE system with hopes of it being under $800 for a TBE.

Why is it so expensive? Is just a straight pipe and resonator. we can just take out a resonator and the muffler from the stock cb. 2.5 and 3" is the same when you are running the stock turbo. I had a ms cb and modded stock cb. Did not gained anything at all on the dyno.

Actually, thats a maganaflow magnapak muffler. Probably the loudest muffler on the market.

Its the best sounding on the car as well.

Mufflers that we tried:

Aero turbine
Magnaflow
Walker turbo
Walker sport compact
Dynopack sport compact
Cherry bomb (we had to)
Flowmaster

The best sounding muffler was teh Magnaflow, the Aero muffler sounds funny under boost, all the others were way to quiet for my liking.

What? There are 7 90 degree bends that get used in building this system. T304 bends cost (my cost) are $38 each. $266 for just bends not including muffler, flanges, expansions for slip joints ($4000 machine) ect ect. Why so expensive? Damn I guess I could just buy the other guys cheap parts and sell them to you.... I choose not to do that. I like quality, so do others.

We have seen 10 to 12 WHP on the dyno with the CBE system. I have dyno's if you need them but I want to get the full TBE system on the car so you guys will get real numbers from the whole system.

We have a 2.5 dual system for the MS6. Its over $1500 to build one from the turbo back. Never marketed it because of cost.

damn, just as im about to sell my other car and have a stash of cash, you guys come tempting me with all these fine parts. i'd love to keep everything from the same manufacturer too (i'm weird like that).

not feeling the 650 for just the cat-back but if all of it stays under 800 for turbo back, that's damn impressive. i'd just buy it all at once and justify the price better.

have you ever thought to make the cat-back including the test/mid pipe?

will the downpipe be divorced or normal bell mouth? j/w


edit - as much as i like quiet, i'm kinda itchin for a little noise if this thing is mean sounding.

Or set ups will come with DP and test pipe built as one unit or you will get a whole TBE set up. The test pipe is for those that don't want to do the DP with the cat back.

I agree, expensive for a cat back, but 800 for a tbe isn't bad at all. Can't wait to see the dyno for the total exhaust.

Making it fit and look good was tough to do. It took more bends then we thought. I will try to see if I can cut some corners on this but as of right now it doesn't look good.

I know it took a lot of work, I am not trying to talk crap. 650 IS a lot for a cat back, we both know that. It isn't smart for anyone to just not wait until the whole unti comes out, because 800 is a great price for a tbe, especially since the catback aloe adds 10whp. I think most people are going to wait for the whole unit, basically you are only charging 150 for a downpipe and midpipe, that is crazy cheap, all other downpipes are at least $300 and $150 for test pipes. So basically your dp/tp combo could be looked at as being 450, and the cbe only 350, if you buy the whole unit, sounds like a better deal if you look at it that way, lol. I think I am going to go with your one piece dp/tb unit if it in fact costs $150, but I think you would charge more for it if it is sold seperately. I don't like the way the gasket on the corksport test pipe matches up to the cat back section, the gasket is too big and doesn't really fit there properly.

Anyways, I really love what you are doing for this community and look forward to more and more parts from you guys. I think you are right up there with Protege Garage right now as far a being reputible in this community. I can't wait to get money together for the turbo wheel upgrade, I am going with the smaller of the two, I am pretty sure the dealer won't notice with the smaller wheel, lol, they are pretty dumb.

Today should be the day. If not I will go down and buy another camcorder to make it happen.

Next, there was a huge mistake on the price. The software that we use to build our systems added 3 additional bends to the build up of the CAT back (no idea why). So the price is $549 not $649 like we posted. I didn't catch it till some one ordered a kit and I built a system last night.... I had 3 extra bends sitting on the floor when I was all done and was like ?????

New price and the program has been corrected for future use, thanks guys.

very nice! i thought 8 sounded like too many bends and when you count in the picture its only 5 that should help those out that said it was too expensive.

I have results from the DP pipe back only right now. Getting the DP issues figured out as I type this. There are issues with the fitment of the full DP and mid pipe as a combo unit. I hope I don't have to make it as a 2 part system.
