Default Purchasing 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 already moded

Hi everyone! My name is Justin and this is my first post. I currently have an 87 RX-7 but really wanted to snag a Mazdaspeed 3.

A friend contacted me on Facebook about one in Florida that already has a list of mods done to it my concern is should I even be bothering with one that's already modded? Should I be looking for stock? I know eventually I want to lower it if I did go stock.

Here's the list of mods:

" 1. Eibach sporline springs with stock shocks
2. Varrstoen es221 18x8.5
3.Damond rear engine mount
4. Htp 3" full intake with k&n filter
5. Daddy speed full exhaust 3"
6. Fuel internal Corksport
7. Damond egr deleted no installed
8. Cobb v3 with 93oct custom map (tunned by PD tunning
9. 20 tint all around
10. Aftermarket 12" subwoofer with amp
11. LED lights all around
12. Hks blow off

And I have everything to put it back to stock "

He also offered to have it inspected by I mechanic out where he lives.

Sounds like your basic bolt on mods minus an intercooler. If the price is right, I’d say go for it, as long as the inspection goes right. You’ll save on getting an AP and fuel pump internals which will set you back around $850-900. You’ll be hard pressed to find a speed that isn’t modded. There are few out there that I’ve seen. I’d just check for any leaks and how clean or dirty the engine bay is. I don’t know why, but when I see a dusty nasty looking engine bay I just get the vibe that they didn’t give a shit about the car and that leads me to believe that they didn’t properly maintain it. Or maybe I’m just picky.

But oh yeah check that car fax and see what kind of maintenance records you can find on the car. If it’s a tech package 13’ it probably won’t last long. Good luck.

Thank you so much for your response! I'd love to check it out but the downside is is I'm in Las Vegas and he's somewhere on the East Coast so I can't really drive it so that sucks. He did say he was willing to have it inspected by a mechanic which makes me feel like he's being really genuine. He just sent me photos of the engine bay if it helps.

A silver 13’ well shit man get it and have the best color of all the speeds!

But in all seriousness, if he’s getting it inspected for you that definitely shows some good faith on his end. Engine bay looks clean too. Where’s the guy located? I’m on east coast.

That seems like a long haul for a car. One way or another, aren't you looking at close to a grand just to get it to you? Aren't there suitable alternatives closer?

Should just fly in and drive it home. Road trip.

Make sure you get compression checked too.
