So I think I want a MS6

I currently own a 2013 MS3, but the size is starting to bother me. I have a 6 month old and the car seat in the car means no passenger over 5'6" can sit comfortably in the passenger seat. I also like the AWD aspect. Am I being delusional for wanting to trade my car in for a 7+ year old car? Am I looking for trouble buying a used one with 70k+ miles with the VVT and timing chain?

Keep in mind that as soon as you move to a forward facing seat, space will no longer be that big of an issue. I just bought a 2008 Mazdaspeed3, and I LOVE the practicality of the hatch, and the rather surprisingly pleasant amount of room. We placed the forward facing seat behind the passenger seat, and we've had two passengers over 6 feet tall that fit with no issues in the front seat.

Well, I have shopped around for MS6's and have found some good one's but I just couldn't follow through. I mean I love the MS6's shape a lot and I love that it's AWD but I just can't give up the practicality and usefulness of the MS3's hatch, and the MS3 is fucking fun to drive also.

They're quite a bit heavier at similar stock power levels, but with ms6 you gain traction so there's tradeoffs with both. I would just stick it out a little bit longer. You can spin your kid around at 1 and that will free up some room.

Stock turbo, pump gas MS6s with bolt ons and a decent tune are capable of 1/4 mile times in the high 12s to the low 13s (conditions/driver dependent). Check here: Official MS6 1/4 mile times

Bolt-on FA Civics have trouble breaking into the 13s without MAJOR weight reduction.

The same is true of the Focus ST on a stock turbo.

The GTI is closer, but unless you throw in some E85 or a turbo upgrade, they're not going very deep into the 12's at all.

Yes, the 370z is going to be faster, in most circumstances, but so what?

Sounds like the 6s you've been in could use a little driver mod. On paper they're a little slower due to the added weight, on street they put power down a little better due to added traction. Otherwise the cars are the same with the same go fast bits.

That's not strictly accurate either, unfortunately. They do put the power down better, but the gearing is different (MS6 has closer, shorter ratios), and it is definitely heavier. Like-for-like mods, and with identical drivers, the MS6 will lose to an MS3 in a 1/4 mile drag, and in most roll-races.

Even if a sentence comprises only one word, that word should still be capitalized, and followed by a period. This has not happened in several of your sentences above. I also noted a period that clearly should've been a comma. With any luck, that was merely a typo, however.

Rule 4: A period should always follow a sentence.

Rule 5: Proper nouns and the personal pronoun, "I," and its conjugations should always be capitalized.
