Default Throttle blips on gear change

When I am driving and shift out of a gear (usually 2, 3, 4, 5) the throttle blips slightly, about 1-200 rpm. It is most noticeable on upshift. This did not used to happen I believe and currently happens about 80% of the time. Could it be due to a dirty throttle body or ECU? I was tuned by freektune.

Probably due to the tune. I remember the stock map doesn't do this, but when I flashed to the Cobb OTS map for the first time, I had to adjust how much I press the accelerator pedal after a shift because the car would lurch forward a little.

My car started doing this over winter with my Cobb stage 1+ map. I thought the cold weather contributed to it, but its been consistently doing it. I was hoping it would go away in the next month or two when I get a real tune...

My car has been doing this for years. It only does it when shifting from 4th to 5th and from 5th to 6th once the car is at full operating temperature. It doesn't do it when the engine is still cold. Revs higher between shifts when doing WOT runs.

I used to think it was the tune, but even flashing back to the stock map once it started happening didn't fix it. I've been over the issue with my tuner and no resolution has been found yet.

Through logging I've seen that the throttle plate is opening slightly between those shifts for some reason, even with my foot completely off the gas between each shift. Foot off gas, watch throttle close on AP, shift gears, go to engage clutch and throttle opens a touch, then foot back on gas. It doesn't effect normal driving at all other than being annoying, but during 4th to 5th WOT shifts you kind of have to anticipate for it. It's also recognizable on my boost gauge, as the needle jumps during the brief RPM "hang."

There are known RPM hang issues with other vehicles that are supported by the AccessPORT that are known to be Cobb related, but I have not seen anything similar on our cars.

My car has always done this as well, even on stock tune. Not sure why, don't really care.

Sounds like seeking a solution to something that is really not a problem. It is also in the stock tune and my HT "can o tuna" for 4-5 and 5-6. Must be something inherent in Mazda's engine management for MZR. Seems harmless.
