(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Everyone, We are gathering information on aftermarket intakes to help us prioritize which AccessPORT Off-The-Shelf maps we should create for the 1st Gen MS3. Please select which intake you use on your car. We had to group the CP-E Xcel and Xcel Nano as well as the HPS CAI and SRI. We'll get into more detail on the individual products from these manufacturers later. There were also several requests for maps with Turbo Inlet Pipes. Since we have seen that boost pressure can increase by removing the restriction of the stock TIP, we will create additional maps that include an aftermarket TIP. We still have yet to determine if all of the TIP manufacturer's products can be covered with a single TIP map adjustment, or if there is enough performance difference to require unique maps for each TIP. Thanks very much for your input! Gary

| Not Ranked : 0 score I think there should be two TIP maps. One for metal TIP's and another for silicone. That way they're both covered.

and is there custom tuning available to the end user such as with ATR? and is it possible to monitor/log parameters such as the AP can? from looking around their website, the answer is no to all of the above.
with a stage 2 map and test pipe, my experience was that the car didn't boost like it could have. i think others have said that a catless DP may cause overboost (and maybe boost creep?) with stage 2 maps. with either situation, you can tweak a map w/ ATR. | Not Ranked : 0 score How long before these new maps are available....fall, winter? I am currently trying to make a Cobb or MSCAI stage 1 map work for my CPE CAI...everything's good except STFT and LTFT's...maybe I should just wait. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I'd like to get a few of the big hitter intakes mapped fairly quickly. However, the poll results are way lower than I would have hoped. Maybe it's because this poll is in the COBB subforum and isn't getting enough eyes on it. I think I'm going to move this to an offsite survey so I can list more options and post this in the ECU Tuning section. I'd like to get a lot of people replying so that we make sure we have a good sampling from the community. Gary

| Not Ranked : 0 score If i'm not mistaken, AEM makes the Mazdaspeed CAI so the Mazdaspeed CAI map should work for the AEM CAI. Does cobb have a map out there for a catless downpipe and test pipe?

| Not Ranked : 0 score I think you got about 60% of people covered with the Cobb SRI and Mazdaspeed CAI, probably why there's so few posting. I believe the AEM CAI is the same as the Mazdaspeed version. The rest of the majority are using the Cpe intakes, Corksport, and Injen/Fujita on that order just about. Then there are the very few running big MAF intakes with a BT setup that most likely are not bothering posting here. Hope that helps. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I think youll get MUCH more attention if you bring the information from the Cobb forums to here, This is pretty much the hang out for us ms3/6 guys. Keep up the good work, I really never thought it would make much difference between a silicone vs metal tip, how it could change your values, just goes to show any little tiny thing cannot be overlooked with regards to proper tuning on a car. As for Hyper-tech having all those intake maps, Ill admit thats pretty cool. And its prabaly a pretty good little programer for the average modder, gives you some more power, and its fairly priced. But its not a Cobb ap or Cp-e SB From that ive seen there is no custom maps for turboback exhausts and fmic mods, like the AP. plus the pro-tunes or Custom ATR tuning and data logging, its just not in the same ball park as for as I am concerned.
