AP V3 charger lock/tabs falling out.

Has anyone here had a problem were the pressure/lock tabs on the sides of the V3 plug have fallien out?

Mine fell out and seem to have disappeared in the depths of nothing.

@Evan@COBB; have you heard of this being a problem?

I'm not trying to flame or blow it out of proportion. I am not a "disgruntled" customer lol just wondering if it is a problem that has popped up before.

I have the same problem. Both the tabs on my cable have broken off, I was also wondering if it was just me or if other have had this happen.

joeyspeed3 08-30-2014 09:39 AM

Prallell6 08-30-2014 11:34 AM

electrical tape ftw.

joeyspeed3 08-30-2014 12:23 PM

The thing is that is a pain In the ass to remove that cable from the accessport without the clips

thepatient77 08-30-2014 06:31 PM

Haha mine did the same thing. I just use a pen to take it out.

That fucking sucks, why can't Cobb make that end like, for example, the Aim Solo? You simply screw it on/off, no fucking tabs that can break.

I emailed Cobb directly when that happened to my v3 cable. Cobb warrantied the cable and sent the new/replacement cable in advance along with a return shipping label for the defective cable. Was painless & fast.

Thank for the info about them replacing it under warranty! I figured they would just wanted to see if it was common. Thanks man.

Damn I have same shit!

My tabs have also fallen out. Thankfully with long fingernails I can get my AP off the cord.

AP V3 charger lock/tabs falling out.

I think if more and more people have this problem it should probably be addressed. I understand they are replacing them under warranty but then what? Wait another 1 to 6 months for that replacement one to do the same?

kmpeeps 08-31-2014 05:51 PM

One of my tabs broke off last week. Had it for all of a month or so. I was just gonna glue/tape the head of a small zip tie in there.

shaneski 09-01-2014 06:01 AM

Both mine took a shit the first few weeks, i just use a pair of small angled hex keys..in some way i don't mind incase some low life decides to try and steal it and there is no tabs to remove it they will go commit suicide instead...but they are weak as, especially after you have just done a 4th gear log with BT and still shaking trying to remove the AP to get the data

everton99 09-01-2014 02:27 PM

Damn y'all did good then. My first tab broke two days after I got my AP. Granted Cobb sent the replacement one two days later.
