(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hey guys, I was looking through threads and this one caught my eye. I laid down $1000 bucks this weekend at Cobb Plano with AP, SRI, and TIP. When I got everything apart and putting back together, I saw that I was missing the internal connecting tube for the Bypass Valve side to the TIP. They had taken it for someone else and not replaced it! I live 40 miles from them, but have absolutely no time to drive and get the fricken part, nor take it to them and have them put it on! Thank God that I have a brain...sometimes. I cut a piece of fiberglass from a broom stick with the same dimesions and put it in there with the clamps! Solved for the meantime...I just hope it doesn't melt! They should be sending it to me via UPS and I'll change it when I can! Just another "Cobb has some explaining to do". I'll fill you in how this is resolved by Cobb Plano. Best Regards, Kevin Dallas |

| Not Ranked : 0 score if you really had a brain, you would have gone to an auto parts store and spent $2 on the correct hose for your application.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Did you read that before you sent it? A broomstick? Lol Before claiming they took it for someone else and trashing them on the boards, try to resolve this shit over the phone like a grown up. Next time, check contents upon purchase. .......broom stick. Lmao.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Didn't they give you your stock parts back? Use the stock one.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Sounds like he is talking about the metal coupler that connects the tih and recirc hose, so auto parts rubber hose would be not helpful. Though fiberglass tube seems like a poor choice also. But gotta do what you gotta do I guess. tapatatapa... DROID 2 Global... etc etc

| Not Ranked : 0 score Agreed, putting the stock tip back on would have been the best option. Or plug and VTA for a day just so he can see how shitty the car runs with a BPV in VTA so he never has the desire to make that mistake again.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Or you could have just spent an exta 15 minutes and bolted the stock TIP back on until your new part showed up. just sayin'... Making a homemade part to which you have the stock part sitting around is asinine. Companies make mistakes. Not sure what response you were looking for here... |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Cobb made good on sending me a new COMPLETE TIP, plus they included a Cobb knob for my troubles. Chris at Plano was very efficient about sending it out. When I realized that I was missing a part, all was taken apart, TIP was tightened down on turbo! You all know what a PITA that is to tighten and change...so it was either cycle 40 miles to Cobb Plano, and miss my "date" with my 9 y/o daughter (gymnastics competition) or use my brain to find an adequate solution. The new parts and AP work great, and I will be driving it as is until next weekend when I have some free time to change the part. Happy Zoom Zoom |
