New Mazdaspeed OTS Maps and Accesstuner Updates!

Hey everyone!
http://www.cobbtuning.com/wp/app/upl...4-1024x682.jpg
This update for the COBB Mazdaspeed platform includes updated OTS Maps that address issues with overboosting, primarily in colder climates, as well as a host of Accesstuner updates to help improve workflow when custom tuning.

For the complete write-up, head over to the COBB Blog : New Mazdaspeed OTS Maps and Mazdaspeed Accesstuner Improvements

Here's the gist of it:

Accessport Idle RPM Adjustment:

http://www.cobbtuning.com/wp/app/upl...map-change.png
Creating additional vacuum at idle can help to subdue an exhaust smoking problem that is common on Mazdaspeed vehicles. With Advanced Tuning Settings activated on V3 Accessports, users will now see an option to adjust idle RPM in 50 RPM increments with a range of +/- 300 RPM from the initial idle value. Once enabled, users will be prompted to adjust the Idle RPM during a Map Change. Most have found an increment of 100-150 RPM addresses issues with smoking at idle. Please note, adjusting the idle values too low may prevent the car from being able to maintain idle.

New Stage 2 & Stage 3 Off The Shelf Maps
Some Mazdaspeed owners have reported overboosting issues on cars with upgraded turbo-back exhausts. This primarily occurs during winter months when air density reaches higher levels. Previous updates added the ability to manipulate Wastegate Duty Cycle on the Accessport in an attempt to bring boost levels down. For this update, we’ve taken it a step further. All Stage 2 and Stage 3 Off The Shelf Maps have been up-revved to improve compensations during those colder months and now feature a closed-loop boost control tuning strategy which will improve boost control year-round, regardless of temperature. The following map files feature these updates:
USDM Vehicle Applications:
  • Stage2 91 v250.ptm
  • Stage2 93 v250.ptm
  • Stage3 91 v250.ptm
  • Stage3 93 v250.ptm
WM Vehicle Applications:
  • Stage2 95 v250.ptm
  • Stage2 98 v250.ptm
  • Stage3 95 v250.ptm
  • Stage3 98 v250.ptm

Mazda Accesstuner Updates

The Map Compare Feature of Accesstuner has been enhanced to include the following capabilities.
  • A comparison summary now displays a list of tables with differences
  • Accesstuner Pro users may now compare to Other Stock ECU data
  • Import Map Properties such as descriptions, revision numbers, or AP serial number

Users can now load a Map File from the ECU Selection Panel. This is convenient for Protuners who need to make updates to a custom tune file where the file name does not indicate the exact ECU type.

An assortment of tables have been updated to address minor bugs or incorrect descriptions. Tables that have been labeled as “BETA” no longer carry that tag as they have been verified using internal and external testing.

The Stage 2 Maps for the 2007-2008 MS3 are locked to the 2009 only rendering them useless, it would be great if you could take a look at that for us northerners so we can have some fun in the snow

Thanks for the heads up!!!

It looks there's a quirk on the website if you manually download the map for 07. Our web team will fix that this morning. Sorry for the confusion!

In the meantime, if you updated your AP firmware to the new version we released last week, the new maps are already on your AP. Selecting "restore OTS maps" will make them appear. If you haven't updated your AP firmware, I'd do so since there are other new features too.

Instructions on that here:

Please let me know if that gets you going!

Hey Mike, My Accesstuner version is 1.9.1.0-11650. Should I presume that I cannot update to the latest version since there was that whole shift in licensing/release or whatever? My ATR says no updates are available.

The website has been updated to fix 07-08 map glitch. Thanks again for the heads up!

Sorry the naming can be a bit confusing.
Accesstuner Race (ATR) was the old DIY software which was discontinued and no updates are available for it.
Accesstuner Pro (ATP) is the pro tuning software for authorized Protuner businesses.
Accesstuner (AT) is the new DIY software which requires a training course from EFI U to download it. More info here: COBB Tuning - Mazda Accesstuner

@Cobb Tuning;
So I was just browsing in the v250 maps. Has the logic changed for the "WG Duty Boost Error Comp" table? The values are much more aggressive than in previous maps.

I updated to ots stage 3 map and it is way better then the older versions of the ots. especial with the cold winter days. It will definitely hold me over till I get a little cash for a full tune. Thanks Cobb. Now for what's kind of shitty is you have to pay for a class to get firmware updates? I'm not a protuner so why have do I have to take a class?

Franky-5-Fingaz 03-20-2017 09:30 AM

I think i'll just stick with Accesstuner Race. With the AccessTuner being $600+ already, I don't see any justification in $150 for training (maybe if I was a pro tuner and did this for a living).

How there is not some grandfather clause for the people who have been using ATR for years is perplexing :stupid:
