(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score No CELs. Nothing that would help us lead to what's causing this noise. Car runs well. Only problem is this noise. Only does it when starting the engine ONCE and then when revving sharply between 2-3k rpm. We've tried pinpointing the noise with an electronic stethoscope and still not able to tell. Took out spark plugs one at a time with engine running to see if the noise in the piston would change. Made no difference. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score It looks like the engine is moving when the noise happens as well. Have you looked at your motor mounts?

OP, did you do the VVT work yourself? Perhaps you forgot to connect something or its loose.
