PM me your email and I'll send you the SSP instructions. Also, check out JBRs instructions for removing the dip stick to get to the PCV valve

It can be done with the intake on from underneath. The can sould still fit with a CAI. It mounts right by the horn. Your CAI goes that far?

Nope. Might have to find your own location to mount. But it will work as intended.

Okay so there are two screw holes. One goes through the top of the mounting hangar for the horn and the second goes through a blank hole directly above this. That is the only way I can see this working. Though there is no threading on the blank hole so I suppose I will need to bolt it down?

Also, my bracket is Gen 1 specific -- so that is legit -- however the two curved tubes on mine look like Gen 2 rather than Gen 1 pipes. Whats up with that?

That didnt make any sense... I will post a pic when I get home...

Maybe thats something to note, the gen 1 and gen 2 seem to have either straight or bent tubes. I wonder if 1 would be better than the other.

Also, doesnt it need to be low enough that when it drains, it doesnt drain on anything?

Actually I installed it with the top hole bolted via the bolt for the horn mount and used the bottom hole to mount the horn on (ergo replaces horn bracket). So only one bolt holds it on. Sounds like not enough but I've been driving it around on bumpy roads for around a week now and it hasn't moved (I also zipped up my hoses pretty well so that might help). Single bend elbows would have been easier than U adapters so I think you will be ok.

My picture of the drain location with this mounting scheme is on page two of this thread.

2nd that on it can be done from under.

I took the damn OEM PCV and black breather box thing it sits on off from underneath. And then replaced it with a new one.

Probably would have been a good idea to take off the dipstick, but I didn't, just had fun moving heater hoses around.

Wiggling hoses the right way does wonders for removing them.

What's up dudes. I just installed the can. That damn tab is a frikin bitch.

Anyway, after about 15 miles of driving I get a little puff of oil smoke coming out of the tail pipe. When I start the car or begin to accelerate from a stop.

Just jacked the car up and checked all connections. All good there.

Any ideas?

Okay my turbo or something is officially smoking now.

Right after I did the occ it began. Now it is full fledged.

Just to double check. I capped the little hole on my intake that runs to the valve cover - and capped the bottom of the IM. I ran lines to the catch can from the green 90degree elbow on the PCV, and the valve cover breather.

Any ideas what's up? Or is this just the inevitable and now I have to buy a BNR S3.

Not pulling enough vaccum out of the crank case to drain the turbo.

How many miles did you have on the car when you did this? Do you know how built up the manifold or intake is?

Since the PCV is no longer breathing into the intake manifold, at idle and cruise it will change the characteristics of flow in the IM and might be picking up some of the crap in the manifold.

How many miles have you driven since you put in on?

Hey thank you for the reply.

I have 93,xxx on the odo. When I take the TB and IM off there is usually oil deposits on everything. My valves don't look too good either. I blocked the EGR and cleaned the PCV valve thing (can't remember what it is called, the black box with the plunger) at around 75,xxx.

I have had the occ on for 60 miles.

The smoke is intermittent and doesn't happen consistently when I am at idle. On Saturday at around 40 miles on the occ the thing was pouring smoke out of the exhaust. Now it is back to wisps at idle.

Could it be that the system is clearing out? I don't even know of that is possible.

Considering you had that many miles, you might be burning off what was heavily built up prior to putting the OCC on after the airflow has changed since vacuum acts a little different now. I would give it a little bit of time, say 500-1000 miles and see if it clears up. Built up oil can take a long time to burn off. At the end of the day, it's best to clean the intake system but obviously that a big task so if you can't right away, see if it clears up a little after a little driving time.

Also, monitor your AP. Just want to make sure it's running healthy during the time it's clearing out a bit.

Greet tip. Thank you JP. I will let you know how it comes along. I am really happy with it. I feel like my engine is thanking me. Like I quit smoking and my lungs are clearing.

Just keep us posted because if it does continue to smoke after a long time, I'd like to figure out what else it could possibly be. I honestly think this is probably what it is but just keep us in touch.

No, just wondering if you're talking about the SSP OCC or something else. They've had them in stock for months now. If you actually read this thread you would have seen that.

Dude really. If you would actually read and not worry about my business when I was talking to EDGE. This is what was said about 4-5 post up.

Emptied the can after about 270 miles. Lots of nasty stuff in there already. Not are if this is normal.

Also, still occasionally smoking at idle when I sit for a while. Saw a few wisps of smoke from the catch can itself before I emptied it.

All of this smoke is certifiably oil smoke.

Should I be doing anything differently?
Is this a unique case?

Most importantly should I pull the trigger on a BNR?

^ not sure if that picture loaded... Sent from my phone... If you can see it, that bottle is one of those blue crystal geyser ones. More girth than a regular water bottle. All that shit smells strongly of gas. Has the consistency of oil, and milky shit on top.
