cp-e Parts at EdgeAutosport!

As a lot of you know, we have been working with Custom Performance Engineering (cp-e) for a long time and are currently their number one distributor. As I'm sure you guys have noticed, there have been a lot of backorders from them recently and long periods of time spent waiting on parts. This is because they have been in the process of moving into a larger facility as well as bringing powdercoating in house and the move has definitely stressed them and has made logistics a bit difficult as well. Because of these stressed logistics, we have been having to send a large number of orders over for drop ship in order to get your parts to you faster as they have been unable to fulfill our stocking orders and this makes things more difficult for the both of us as well as you the customer. So from now on, we will no longer be drop shipping anything from cp-e.

This is how it is going to work. When you go to our website, you will notice that there is only a few cp-e items listed. The items that are listed are items that are on our shelf right now and we can ship those items the same day you purchase them. All the other items are still there, but just invisible and unavailable for purchase until they come in stock at our facility. Once they are in stock they will be made visible and available for purchase again. If there is something you want that you don't see on our site, you will just need to call cp-e (301-576-6142) to see if they have it available through them.

We normally stock a large amount of cp-e products when they are available and will continue to try and keep everything they make for the MS3/MS6 in stock. I will be using this thread to post up when we have new inventory so that you guys can stay updated on what is available. As always, if you guys have any questions about parts or availability, just let me know and I'll be happy to get you taken care of. As for cp-e availability, you are more than welcome to call and ask us about our stocking orders and what we have coming and when its supposed to be available again and we will be happy to give you that information.

Looks like a mess, even if you make an item visible, many folks will not see it right away unless they clear their browser cache.

Why not list "quantity in stock: 0" or something similar, this will allow people to add the unavailable items to the cart and save for a later purchase.

Showing the item but having it listed as "Out of Stock" or "Qty 0" is probably a better way to do it if your system supports it. Like @Code Monkey; said, people will still be able to find what they are looking for and save it for later.

We have been playing around with different inventory systems lately and are working out a way to show something like this for everything we carry. So it will likely switch over to something like what you are talking about in the near future.

Definitely make them visible on your website even when out of stock. Most people like to plan purchases in advance. Knowing that you carry a product, although its out of stock, may have an effect on if people purchase from you. I know if I search a website for a particular item and I cant find it on their website at all I assume they dont carry the item, not that its out of stock.

I have had the CP-e TMIC on order for a couple of weeks now - The UPS website lists it as Shipping information received but that hasn't changed in about 11 days. I was told they were on back order but figured once the shipping info appeared that it had actually arrived.

Is it safe to say we are still tied up on back order, or is there some other issue with my order? I've send a couple of emails but am still waiting for a reply. If it hasn't left yet then I might have to swap my order to an ETS instead as this will get to the point where it's holding up my build in another 2 weeks or so.

I'm waiting on a CP-e TMIC as well. I got an update June 2nd with a tracking number that is waiting to be picked up by UPS, so I doubt there is a problem with your order.

They're probably pre-shipping orders when they get them since they know the weights, so that once shit's done they just slap the labels on.

All orders placed before the policy change will still drop ship when available.

This is to prevent all the hot messes. We will no longer be taking money for cp-e items that are not on our shelves. Drop shipping from them has become too much of a hassle and is no longer efficient for either of us.

This is one of the issues we are hoping to prevent. We have a very large stocking order placed that we have been waiting on for some time. We get told stuff is available and is on a pallet waiting to go out so in order to get you guys the parts faster we just drop ship from our own order which is still at cp-e. We send the labels over and they stick them on the box and send them out. Because this has become too difficult and inefficient, we are now only shipping cp-e items from us because we can know 100% that it is available and will ship same day as you place the order.

Cool, so with my order, if I can't get an accurate ETA on my TMIC then I would probably prefer to swap it for the ETS one that I know will arrive in a reasonable timeframe. If you are unable to get an accurate time estimate out of CP-e then would I be able to cancel that order and change it? If the shipping labels have already been sent to Cp-e then that might be a bit of trouble to reverse but I am not going to let this kind of crap hold up my build when there are other alternatives out there.

I think Edge's policy is if they don't have the item in stock and are waiting on it, and you want to get another item, you can get refunded for the item you've been waiting on. and as for the ETA on cp-e's shipment to edge, who knows. I feel bad that there's this much miss communication between cp-e and edge. I ordered my diff mount a short bit ago and was told they have no idea when the next shipment from cp-e is to arrive. I would think cp-e would at least be able to give a wild guess that would be remotely close to when the shipment would be finished and would arrive. As for your question about the shipping labels at cp-e, edge said they're no longer doing that. Too much of a hassle.

When CPe took forever with my intercooler, Edge was more than willing to swap it for the ETS that they had in stock. While it's not an ideal situation to be put in, Edge will do their best to at the very least make sure you're happy.

Yea looks like we are in the same boat, I just wanted an ETA so I can plan accordingly if this ends up being the limiting factor in my build. Lucky for CP-e that BNR turbos are also on back order!
