It definitely doesn't have a match for Mazdaspeed related forums as most of us know. We'll be posting up here about some products and deals very soon. First let me say that I am stoked about the response by some of you guys. I want to be questioned, I want to be challenged, and I want people to be curious. It gives me the opportunity to prove to you why I am here and why we will be successful. Some of you guys will be wondering what the difference is between us and the other guys. Well on the surface, there won't be a difference. We are an online retailer. But we do really care about how good the site looks and what our image is in the public eye. The difference is in the experience and the relationship we build with our customers. IMO, most aftermarket parts companies treat you like dog crap if you don't know something or if your just asking questions. If a Fortune 500 company treated people the way most shops and aftermarket companies treated their customers, they wouldn't be on that list. We intend to be the BEST at giving the aftermarket community what they want...good parts from good people. No BS in between. We will work our tails off to be the BEST in every way possible at what we do and who we are.

With that said, we are in a growth phase. We are not cranking out millions of dollars in parts every year but our goal is to get there as quickly as possible. We want your business and we want to prove why you should go with us for your parts needs. Consider us like a rookie out of high school. We haven't earned our keep yet but we'll put our money where our mouth is. Eventually, we'll earn the respect. We know this forum in particular is demanding...we like that. It makes us pay attention to what counts...that would be you guys.

Well it's not going to be listed on the site right away. I intend on having an MS6 section of the website sometime soon.

Although down the road manufacturing might be something we get into, we will just be providing products already available for now. We are already an authorized dealer of CPE and will be for a few more big manufacturers like COBB in the next 2-3 weeks. I do have one disclosure...WE WILL NOT BE SELLING CRAP PARTS. IF WE WOULDN'T PUT IT ON OUR CARS, WE WOULD NOT EXPECT ANYONE ELSE TO. We will not be selling Chinese turbos, eBay stuff, or any other crap that we all know shouldn't even exist. I might have my preferences as to what I like, but if that option wasn't available, I would feel comfortable with another part on our site.

Let me be clear on this. Dropshipping is almost impossible to get away from. At some point, there will be shortages or a lack of inventory. I will be stocking as much product as I can so I can be straight with customers about what we have and what we don't. If we don't have something, I'm not going to say we do but I will still advertise it on the site as a product that is generally available. I'm not one of those vendors that holds people's money and puts people off. I am honest and up front about what the availability and turnaround is on any given part that isn't in my inventory. Like I said though, we are going to try and stock as much as possible.

In Summer of 2010, I was sitting at a stoplight when a guy that had been told not to drive by his dentist after an appointment earlier that day plowed into the back of me at about 50 after he passed out at the wheel with his foot on the gas. Car was totaled along with two other cars damaged at the accident. It was not fun...several weeks of physical therapy was involved. We've been waiting for spring to get here to replace it. We are in Denver, Colorado so the snow makes it harder to justify spending the money when we can't use the car for shows, track time, etc. We figured we'd spend the money when the right car and time comes. A car is part of our business so we're going to be picky about when and what it's going to be. The good thing is...I had just bought it 6 months earlier and hadn't modded hardly anything yet. Thank god.

Hey guys, I never got to formally introduce myself and the company.

EdgeAutosport.com was started in August of 2009 and really didn't start making progress until about 6 months later. We started the website, became a vendor on another Mazdaspeed 3 related forum, and started to get out into the online community to spread the word about our company and our website.

My name is JP Alonso. I'm 25 years old and grew up in Denver, CO. Cars have been my passion for a long time. I can remember back to the days I used to dream about EG Civics. Although that era deserves a lot of respect, I have discovered that there are much bigger and better trends to both start and follow than the old days of FWD grocery getters turning into rice burning, fart can sounding, discolored tin cans. When I started the company, it was after putting on a suit since I was 19 as a salesman and getting sick of it because all I could think about was starting my own company. Although I had a bright future ahead of me, I decided to jump head first into pursuing my dream. To start, I bought a 2008 CWP MS3 GT to use as our demo car. Less than a year later, it was totaled by a negligent idiot. I thought about getting an EVO or STI for the aftermarket support and popularity but I just couldn't seem to get the hatch out of my head. I flew to Vegas to pick up a used 2009 MS3 CWP GT with 26k and as of now, haven't had it more than 2 weeks. I fully intend on living the automotive lifestyle along with running the company. I wake up in the morning and think about what I want to do to the car every morning just like many of you guys. I even took it a step further back in 2007 when I bought a DD2 Rotax Go Kart to race. I became state and club champion of Colorado in 2009. I take this seriously and will do WHATEVER it takes to make this dream a reality.

My vision for the company is beyond what any other company has done to this point. It will take a lot of hard work and time to build it into what it will be. I am committed to serving every customer as if I was the one looking for the part. My future employees will also be committed to the same thing. We want to make the experience for someone modifying their car easy, enjoyable, and rewarding. We want to be a one stop shop for information and parts for all of our current and future customers. You will see us grow so make sure you keep tabs on what we're doing because it will be awesome.

Ask me questions, whether about the company, myself, or parts. I'm here to help everyone get their problems solved and their needs met. We want everyone to shop with us. We want to give everyone a better experience than any other company they've bought parts from. We want to be the last place you ever buy parts from...EVER!

We sincerely look forward to being a part of the community and when we are much bigger, we'll be proud to say it all started with a Mazdaspeed!
