Default Supertech Valvetrain Kit at EdgeAutosport

Hey guys, we are always looking to make things easier for you when purchasing stuff on our site. We want to make sure you get everything you need. In some cases people don't know exactly what they need and that's why we have put together kits for motor build, VVT, and OE clutch as well as a few others. For our latest "kit" we have the Supertech Valve Train. Its nothing crazy, and is just to save you a step when ordering parts for your head.

The Supertech Valvetrain Kit comes with guides and seals as well as the springs of your choice. With this kit, we are just trying to make it a little bit easier and save some people having to call back and order again after they realize they need the valve guides and seals as well.

The Supertech Valvetrain Kit is $496.98 and you can have your choice of 55lb, 70lb, or 83lb springs.

As always, let us know if you have any questions, and we'll be happy to help!!

Default Reading my mind

@EdgeAutosport.com; you all know how to make the decision to buy or not to buy a whole lot easier....

I noticed that the Exh valve and Intake valve you sell from supertech (their catalog here: Exh and Intake) difference in valve dimensions:

Exhaust - Supertech
Head Diam: 30mm(std)
Stem Diam: 5.48mm
Length: 104.7mm

Exhaust - OEM spec from manual-
Head Diam: 28.3 (not accounting for margin thickness)
Stem Diam: 5.965-5.980mm Minimum: 5.935mm
Length: 104.25--105.05mm

Intake- Supertech
Head Diam: 35mm(Std)
Stem Diam: 5.48mm
Length: 103.40mm

Intake - OEM spec from manual
Head Diam: 33.5mm (not accounting for margin thickness)
Stem Diam: 5.970-5.985mm Minimum: 5.940mm
Length: 102.99--103.79mm

I am assuming that the supertechs head diameter are larger because they account for the seat length while Mazda does not, but why the difference in stem diameter? I saw in an earlier post from you all that supertech valve guides are needed, and I assume this valve stem diameter is the reason?

It probably has something to do with the manufacturing process. These valves are most likely used in a few other platforms so its easier and more cost effective for supertech to make a valve with a certain stem thickness and just change the the seals to fit the different applications.

Valvtrain kit comes with everything but the valves might as well build your engine once and build it right!
