Would you mind sharing details of the tune? Ie. Boost, AFR, and ignition timing These are the numbers I want but feel I'm limited by my Cnt catted dp and stock catback.

Must have pretty large goals in mind using a 4" intake. Come on...spill the beans.

Must be planning on adding a procharger in the future to twincharge this monster.

In all srsnss this build is pretty dope. Once I get to the point of bigger turbo I'll be doing at least an s4, 4 inch intake and turbo + intake mani. A man can dream... A man can dream....

Fair enough. You're already beyond my goals which is on the cusp of a 3" and 3.5". Figured I didn't want to be limited by a simple intake, so I opted for the 3.5". I'm only shooting for 350awhp or until my fuel system runs out of capacity. But I want to be sure I leave a little bit of headroom for Knock enrichment...just in case.

FWIW, I did 424whp (yeah, real roller numbers) with the S4v2 and a 3" intake and the 3" wasn`t *quite* maxed out. Built the motor and went 3.5" to get into the 460whp range safely (vdyno said it was at 462 when I bent the rod) without pushing the MAF into pixelated territory. 4" sure looks neat but it`s not necessary in the slightest. I don`t say it to mock, merely an observation.

Built the motor and went 3.5" to get into the 460whp range safely (vdyno said it was at 462 when I bent the rod) without pushing the MAF into pixelated territory. 4" sure looks neat but it`s not necessary in the slightest. I don`t say it to mock, merely an observation.

Understood. Any input is good with me. You on E85 or meth at 424? You see any downside to a bigger intake?

Larger intakes supposedly cause minor drivability issues in the low revs because the air velocity is so slow, but I didn't notice any difference with the 3.5" from stock.

LOL both. E85 blend and methanol. Factory fuel system will really only support about 375whp so methanol is my supplemental fuel source.

The bigger intakes can give wonky MAF readings at low rpm because the air velocity just isn`t there so you may get some stumbling moving from idle to throttle but no disastrous downsides.

Awesome! Good to see that the S4 is capable of these numbers, Congrats. How far are you planning to take it? And what power level do you think it will max out at? Also, are you using the stock IM?
What do you think about using the focus st manifold (2% flow imbalance) to even out the flow to each cylinder since you're using meth for aux fuel and have a FMIC setup?

It`s fully built motor and I`ll actually be running the ST manifold in a few weeks. The math says I should be right around 460whp on the new setup and I`ve seen a few similar builds hit 460-465 on roller dyno recently so I suspect it`ll fall right in line with that. The S4 really only blows enough air to do about 480 at max so I`m completely fine at 460. There`s really no reason to take it further being (1) FWD and (2) my daily driver. But it`ll be fun and there won`t be many cars I`ll really worry about in the occasional stop light grand prix.

Ya really glad to see these numbers from the S4. I don't know if I'll be going built anytime soon but like everyone else you always get the itch to go faster...

So far so good with the intake and runs super smooth. Maybe it's just my tuner taking care of business
