Uh oh. Be warned you’re on the wrong site. We do not like bag set ups here, we’re about performance, not ugly stance.

This is common misconception about bags. It can be used for both function and form.

Considering the added weight, it is not a function product for track purposes.

Cool daily and show car mod. Good luck with your build.

Not on a drag strip. We’ve had guys try and the added weight is one thing, but you can’t fit fat slicks with those.

How much added weight do you think it adds?

Nice looking car. If it makes you happy then who cares what others think. But we will continue to give you shit for being on bags since we focus firstly on improving handling and engine performance on this forum.

Educate us on the ability of bags to handle and ride as good as coilovers.

You are on the wrong website buddy. No one wants to see a bagged Speed, or hear why you think its a performance modification.

The problem is yall are giving me crap for the wrong reason. You're assuming that bags are strictly for show and hurt the cars handling. I dont know how people come up with this. Bags basically ride the same as coilovers. In fact, I would says bags are more forgiving when hitting a pothole, damaged road, or train tracks. As for the weight argument, I guess I can see where you're coming from. The only thing that is heavy is the compressors, but I'm not gutting the car for track only. It's a daily.

I would agree that they probably are better for hitting shit in the road, but the fact is coilovers outperform bags in autoX and track every time.

No assumptions necessary, you never even considered and probably dont know how important unsprung weight is to a vehicles dynamics and handling. You also have zero clue how a dampers internals work with the piston and valving shims to flow oil through the shims to control the oscillations on the springs. High end dampers can have low speed valving, and high speed valving w/ adjustments... there is a whole world to proper suspension application that you dont have the slightest clue about.

You plan to throw on some VIP boat anchors, and totally douche out your station wagon. This is not the place for it. You have been warned.

Feel free to come on here and ask/post about engine mods, your BT build, and suspension upgrades that don't involve air.

Bagged struts ride stiffer than coils. The dynamics are completely different. Fuck they might even weigh about the same but that's not the point. We just don't like bags...douchebags. Whatever.

Do you even have upgraded HPFP internals bro?

Otherwise move on over to the "stance bro 370Z and hacked up GT-R's on bags" forums where all they care about is aesthetics and posting up their riced out shit on social media to get likes and float their ego.

I never said I was a pro on suspension. I understand there's a difference between coilovers that are made for track and coilovers that are mainly just for street. Honestly, man instead of adding knowledgeable responses, you decided be a dick about it and bash on the fact that I have bags. I didn't come to this forum for answers on air suspension related questions. I came to this forum to better educate myself on the speed3 and its engine.

I appreciated your response until the end. I'm well aware of the HPFP mod. It has been hard for me to not pull the trigger and buy it with accessport, but I'm not focusing on performance until next year. I plan on building this engine in the summer and pushing for more power. Which is mainly the reason as to why I joined this forum.

As for the people arguing about regular suspension vs air suspension, please view this video. It was a good watch.

Ok, maybe that was a bit harsh. You could have spent your money on the HPFP and AP first. Well, that's what everyone will tell you around here. Bag setups are damned expensive. And I question the quality of their struts under those bags.

Hey, like I said before. You like it then cool.

Hmm, watched the vid and it doesn't say what CO's they put on the car. High quality coilovers would handle much better than the results they got. They're certainly not going to put anything on the vehicle that outperforms what they're selling. But in your defense the air struts seem to handle ok. However, imagine being hard in a turn on your favorite twisty road and BLAM! Bag pops. Scary shit.

I dont need to see a marketing video intended to sell idiots on a product. I also dont care what you think you came to this forum for. You posted your car w/ bags used only for hard parking, you should be prepared to get shit on. Try to defend them, get shit on. Talk about stance in any way outside the 1 thread we actually allow it, get fucking shit on. I wont spell it out for you, but we are just getting started if thats the road you want to go down.

Haha, yeah. My speed buddies have told me this. "You could of done so much more to the motor instead of buying air suspension, etc."

Yeah, that would suck. It's not as scary as you think though. A bag replacement is around $250. I haven't experienced a popped bag yet, but if its anything like the leak I had, then the compressors would constantly run until I turn the car off.

So basically that video outlines bags don’t stand a chance amongst good quality coilovers. Plus that’s even including all the fluff you know they add since they’re selling a product.

I’m not saying I don’t like it, but I don’t like it on a car that’s meant for performance.

I'm simply saying, you're assumptions about air suspension are wrong and in time you will learn.

I don't have to prove anything lol. They evidence is out there. If you want to improve your knowledge on it then that's on you.

@Momentum; You seriously think that people who have done full builds on the platform would overlook the advantages of air ride?

You need to get off your high horse and do some real research that is not marketing BS.

Compressor + hardware = added weight

Added weight = less hp/lbs

It's all for show not for function. Don't try to justify you're poor decisions on adding performance to people who have experience with the MS3/MS6.

The difference in weight is minimal. There's articles everywhere. I'm literally reading them while responding to y'all. Just educate yourself. It's not a big deal. No need to get upset. You don't have to get air.

To be fair, there are at least a couple of people who have put bags in the rear to help stiffen the MS3 to improve dragstrip launches. They are definitely outliers in this forum though.

I think everyone’s being a bit harsh on the guy, he didn’t come in here preaching that air was better than static. I think he just wanted to share a video of his build. I get that this is a performance based forum and that’s what 99% of us do, but we don’t have to be assholes to the 1% that come on here. That’s why this forum has become what it is, deserted. If you don’t like the guys car, cool, don’t say shit and keep it moving. Half you guys have mudflaps but no one is giving you business for that ricey non-functional shit. Just saying, give the guy a break, he didn’t bang your girlfriend or anything.

I've never heard of that. I would love to see the results.

Thanks man. I'm starting the performance/power mods next year and I'm sure this forum will give good information on the best way to go about it. I have a lot to learn, but excited to pursue it.

I’ve seen full built race cars on bags. Coilovers aren’t the “be all, end all” to suspension choices. They’re are prenatal if options with bags to make them stiffer/softer/more/less responsive. It’s not a ballon you blew up with your month and then shoved between a strut.

Also a company wouldn’t advertise the use of it on the track if it wasn’t also meant for use on a track. False advertising = loss profit = no business

"Bags can actually be better than coils"

Except in your case they aren't because you're all about slamming your car to the ground, so your shit isn't better at all.

Not to mention, another idiot who doesn't think he needs HPFP internals. Why the intake and race pipe if you aren't worried about performance? Oh, because you're a ricer who just wants loud noises.
