(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So this is gonna be a catch all for the time being. I recently found a good deal ,drove 12 hours to purchase, then broke down in the mountains coming home after smoking a huge pothole and breaking an axle. Car repairs and meningitis fought( yeah wtf) I’m here now tinkering on her. ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Previous owner spent some money on her and I’m just spending time trying to figure it all out; suspension, shifting, and all the aftermarket goodies. I’ve found a few boost leaks so far and repaired them ( mostly, I still don’t like the plumbing for the grimspeed ECBS and will re do that. Yesterday I blew off the charge pipe to throttle body and found it was in need of replacement . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk All this tinkering is paying off. Took out the bov and gave it some cleaning and maintenance and installed it at somewhere in the middle I’d guess ( tighter/softer) in rain this fucker grips and takes off like a mad bastard. 3rd gear seems to go ape shit quick from just putting. I have been trying to research on the idle being high and not having any luck. Assuming a vac leak somewhere or even a funky tb. Charge pipe is clean as a whistle though and so was tb inlet but I didn’t remove completely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

| Not Ranked : 0 score i think my tuner got my idle at like 700 rpm. 1,100 does seem high. I believe some people raise the idle to help relieve a smokey turbo so if you dropped the idle, keep an eye for smoke to see if thats why they did it.

Turbo looked new, like has changed color in the 200 miles I’ve driven it. I was wondering if it was in the tune, still not heard from the previous Owner to find out the tuner, all the other questions I have Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score ![]() ![]() Pics from cleaning the bov. I bolted everything back up and took her for a spin and watched HPFP 1778 at a decent pull never dropped. I still seem rich but hit a decent 3500-5500 rpm pull 3rd -4th and was watching boost and hit 23.5 psi not wot. So hopefully I can hear back from PO lol I think my boost leaks are fixed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So I’m finding that I’m stuck with the glowshift boost gauge or buy something else. It reads vac off compared to the AP by 10-8 but under boost its seeming to match up. I guess I’ll put it to the end of the list of stuff lol. Trying to find out if high idle is because of vac leak is absolutely putting me on sui watch. Can’t find anything but this idle is getting annoying ( 1100-1300 ). May pull tb and clean it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

| Not Ranked : 0 score The gauge may read inhg not psi while below atm. Basicly 1 psi is = 2 ingh when in vacume... Just do a few real boost leak tests with soapy water and a compressor to be sure you are leak free. My idle is 1k because of the size of my intake so who knows. I would pick up a used AP and get a etuner to work there magic on the car. At least at that point you are setting the car up to be reliable since a good etuner has the car's health as a priority.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Heard from the PO he was on leave and was a little emotional. I hope to eventually get the car to him so he can drive it again. He let me know some issues I’ve already known about the car(and also something not known (there was a power steering repair) and also found out about parts on her. HPFP internals were done! Bnr S4 turbo and tune was done by purple drank. All good stuff to know Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

| Not Ranked : 0 score My TIP was slipping off of the turbo. It had some tacky slimey stuff on the inside. I cleaned it up with Goo-Gone and it's all good now. Clean silicone is quite sticky, so you shouldn't need "hairspray" or GLUE. Lol!

| Not Ranked : 0 score Sounds dumb, but check to make sure the clamps and silicone are actually the correct size. I've had some issues with parts being miss-sized, 5mm isn't much, but it makes a huge difference in stuff staying together.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Tinkered on her over the weekend and came across a couple tbolts that seemed stretched, ran up to local hydraulic shop cause none of the local auto parts stores had them and ordered 5) 2 1/2” tbolts like an asshat - wasted money as they were an order. Diesel buddy had one so replaced and seemed to be holding decent. Took her out Sunday evening cause there was a lot of muscle cars running around and embarrassed a couple then blew off another boot during a hard wot pull charge pipe actually met the ground lol. Was ahead though so still a win. Sometime during it all had a PO335 pop up, a little nervous about that but will research some. Also seem to have a wheel sensor out or something because keep randomly getting getting the trac, abs, and dsc off lights. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If it detached at the hood latch you may be fucked. When I had a MS3 I had the same problem, and I was able to wiggle the cable back into place from under the car. Not sure if you'd have the same luck on a MS6.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I know this is now the least of your problems, but when you get it going again, check with OP about the idle speed. If he installed aftermarket stiffer engine mounts, this introduces a lot of NVH at idle. Raising idle rpm is often used to reduce that.

| Not Ranked : 0 score NVH = Noise, Vibration, Harshness. I only had a stiffer rear motor mount on the Speed 3, all other mounts stock. That stiff mount made the car vibrate and buzz inside the cabin like crazy at idle, especially with the a/c compressor kicked it. Raising idle speed to 1100 which is about 900 with a/c on, fixed that.

That’s probably what they did, it was tuned by Purple Drank Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It detached from the pull under the dash and I cannot find a cable under dash to clamp a visegrip on, or even a hole through the firewall that’s missing something so I can look outside from underneath. What really pisses me off is the hood was popped and I pushed the hood down out of necessity lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I can’t find anything online but I found a couple pictures of the new unit so I might be able to reach up somehow and hook it to in latch. Guess a hood pin set is in my future Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m hoping I can make a hook tool to hook the cable pull location or maybe even come up from underneath on the left side to pull the other catch. So frustrating lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
