No, I don't think so. Because gears aren't easily swapped with these.

LOL damn, head was up my ass. We have access to the gear ratio tables; I just changed mine when I swapped a pu tranny in there. But the speedometer gets its signal from the wheel speed sensors, so there's no way to change it (to my knowledge).

i run 225/45/18 tires

only 1mph or so faster than speedometer reading

they look much better and i like the thicker sidewall the most

no rubbing what so ever, lowered on mazdaspeed springs in the front and stock in the back

Last I checked and knew, Vehicles do not use the wheels sensors to get the vehicle speed. They have a specific sensor for that off the transmission.

like i drive close enough to the speed limit for it to matter.

plus remember the speedo is high stock so the error doesnt really increase it just changes from positive to negative

With respect, in this case you're mistaken. I know because I just replaced my transmission and both front wheel bearings. There's no sensor in these transmissions for vehicle speed. I asked the dealership and also looked at all available service manuals. I was surprised; hell even the dealer tech was a bit surprised.

Got some more goodies in the mail today

Update on the build, making progress the crash bar bracket was pulled and to spec, and tonight the left rail will be pulled because it is ever so slightly out if spec which is actually why the hood didn't line up perfectly in the pictures on page two. After that it will come off the rack and then the rad support, and bumper get put on!

Also got lamin-x yellow fog covers because I love the way they look on a metro gray ms3, but it only looks like there is one cover in here ? Lol

Front end is all to spec Saturday, im going down to put the Rad support in place, front bumper and pretty much button the car up for paint! since Cobb gave me two Accessport face plates i think im going to take the blue one and paint it metro gray to match my car exactly. should look nice and add a touch of detail, after all sometimes its all the small things that make the big picture.

as always ill keep everyone updated.

well, i just noticed this is broken? maybe? i don't even know what it is, its right next to the throttle body. throttle positioning sensor? it works as in no check engine light, but the connector wires are all exposed and well its zip tied in place lol. any ideas on what it is and where i can get a new one?

EDIT: im retarded. its the throttle sensor, and from the searching ive done you cant just replace the senor you have to buy a whole new throttle body

If you are not having issues, try to wrap the exposed cables with lectric tape or something doesn't make it look bad

Got a lot of work done today, very happy with the progress i made

first thing i did the two easiest and quickest things that needed to be done. Swapped out the stock counter shift weight for the Cobb shift weight.

install was a breeze, seriously took me all of about two minutes.

then i changed the air filter, never realized how light of a blue it was suppose to me lol.

Next up was to grind down the welds so they aren't jagged and i could potentially cut myself as im working on my car in the future. the other reason is so they just simply look better haha. obviously these welds aren't super clean reason being is that i'll never seem them again.

yes, that tire got fucked up lol but surprisingly still hold air!

after i ground them down

after that i covered up then engine bay and prepped the area for paint. used 80 grit sand paper and sanded down the rail, went over it was 320 grit then a red scuffy.

after the area was prepped, it was paint time!

and how i left her today

bringing back the talk of tires, i was wrong and it turns out that the car currently has Cooper Zeon ZTP 215/45/18 all around, but i still think i'll go with Continental DWS 225/40/18.

That is exactly why I'm so set on getting them, from all the reviews I've read that are a great dry and wet tire but are simply amazing in the snow. And for the price it doesn't get much better

quick question, later on down the road i want to get a blow off valve, all the research ive done has made me bias to a hybrid type. however one of the techs at my work has an older HKS blow of valve that he said he would sell to me dirt cheap but its atmospheric only. would running a atmospheric valve do any harm? and benefits/disadvantages? pictures of said HKS below. clearly i would need some sort of adapter plate to make it fit.

I was usinig an HKS for awhile, and just swapped back to a Forge in full recirc mode. Much happier with the Forge. You shouldn't need to upgrade in any case; the stocker is very good.

LOL well I did too. But the running rich and the afterfires got to be a real PITA. It runs much better now.

You can tune for the HKS in full VTA mode, for the most part; I wasn't able to, but all of the eTuners here can do it. The one in the pic doesn't look much like mine at all; are you sure it's a legitimate HKS?

Yeah he said he bought it new years ago and that it was legit, but with the amount of fakes out there it is possible. It is a ssqv V1 so its pretty dated. Why would the BOV make the car run rich ?

Yes, it's best to run full recirc mode as any loss of metered air in our system causes the ECU to freak out and dump fuel, thinking it's running lean.
You're better off running the stock or an aftermarket full recirc BPV.
