$3,000 movie ticket

So yesterday we did a house, lady got the bedbugs from the movie theater. It cost her $3,000 to get rid of the bugs.

Damn, what an expensive movie that was.

A word to the wise, you go to a theater, or dark restaurant; make sure you strip at the doorway and immediately put your clothes in the dryer for one cycle. Then spray your shoes with 91% rubbing alcohol from a spray bottle.

urville 09-13-2011 04:13 PM

god damnit i fucking hate bed bugs... thats fucking it man lets do a group buy from mexico or whatever on that shit they used back in day malathion or whatever, i dont care, I'll take no breathing cancer later for dead bugs now. i cant handle bed bugs man. Apparently heat alone kills the fuckers? How hot does it have to be? Sounds like a dirtbag movie theatre.

Heat is the only thing that is 100% effective against them.

It has to be 118* for babies and adults, and 122* for the eggs.

The heat dessicates them, it's a physical kill.

It's also the only thing that penetrates wall voids and kill them there, because that's how they get from room to room.

Stingray69 09-13-2011 04:48 PM

So when your done you can make bed bug smores with all the toasted little fuckers. Looks like the heaters might raise your electric bill a tad too.

bscar 09-13-2011 04:58 PM

1 more reason to not go to movie theaters

That's where this guy comes into effect.

150KW Single phase 240v generator. Burns 5 gallons an hour.

(the exhaust has since been rerouted to the roof of the truck.)

wankular 09-13-2011 05:24 PM

So burning your house down will get rid of the bed bugs?

rtabagaboy 09-13-2011 05:27 PM

122 huh? Thats like a typical summer day in phoenix! Awesome!

AZSPEED3 09-13-2011 05:31 PM

Hey Predapio it seems that it is becoming much more common now of days to get bed bugs, any reason why? I live in AZ and have only heard of a couple people gettting them, may be due to the damn heat we have but is there any precaution's at home you can take. Such as spraying chemicals or something to prevent them. The people I know who got them said they had to pay thousands of dollars to get rid of them. I would rather burn the house down then deal or pay that much.

Preventative measures are what work best. You can't really spray for them and have lasting effects. The key is stopping them BEFORE they get into the house.

Damn I imagine that's going to be a bitch to do. Have never seen a bed bug in person but I would think it's hard to see them. Just worries me about having to young kids. thanks

No, it's not really hard to see them. When you know what you're looking for, they'll be easy to spot.

There is another thread on here explaining what to look for.

No, that's what the going rate is here. Matter of fact, I'm cheaper than most.

Poor woman? She has no more bugs, what do you think that's worth?

It's worth that, just in peace of mind.

I just feel bad that she had to spend THOUSANDS of dollars to rid her home of some bugs.......Seems ridiculous to me, but I have no knowledge in the field of bug extermination.....Must be difficult.

Difficult, laborious,and time consuming.

This is not spray and pray, this is over 100k of heating equipment, in action.

skeeter149 09-13-2011 06:43 PM

pred did you see the episode of billy the exterminator where they handled the bed bugs? so ghetto lol

I bet there is alot of labor to get rid of something like that...........when I do sidework, I charge, on average 1200+ for a residential electrical service change......its easy, and i'm cheap as fuck compared to others.......It just sucks that everything now-days is so damn expensive.

Damn, all this time I thought you were just un-employed with a full time forum hobby. Sounds like now you are an entrepreneur. Sounds like you have some serious jack tied up in equipment. Best of luck to you in your endeavor.

No, only 140. The fans we use to circulate the air ,drive it into the wall voids .
